We returned to this pub in the evening after finding it closed on our initial Saturday afternoon foray. It was still just as dead when it opened. The Polish barman had as much charisma as a lettuce. It later transpired that he had been grumpy all day after being told off by the landlord for eating a plate of salmon without asking! Otter Ale, Teignworthy Gun Dog & St Austell Tribute were the ales, but there was no real cider. I can't help thinking the lack of customers could be due to the surly service. Although the landlord did seem fairly friendly (to customers). Nice location though.

Spacious country pub/restaurant with plenty of character. Good beer, good food and good service, what more could you ask for!

Good ale and, according to those that tried it, good food.

I recently visited the Forest Inn and enjoyed the San Miguel, although it was expensive at nearly 4.00 a pint. I was told the Otter Ale and Guinness were also good. The meal I had was nice and very filling. I would definitely visit this pub again.

A good pub in a great location. Great beers, well kept, but the food can be disappointing.

One of my favourite pubs. Because of the big dining areas it should be too big to feel cosy but with the fire burning and friendly staff its a great place to relax after a walk. Food and beer always excellent

Tucked away is a small hamlet, but well worth finding. Beers from the Teignworthy range, well kept and reasonably priced. Had lunch here with the Mrs. Nice welcome and an interesting menu with small portions available on request. Dog, Horse and walker friendly.

Cracking pub in the middle of nowhere. Teignworthy beers in perfect condition and superb food. Mostly reliant on visitors but the locals get in too. Worth finding.

Three of us eat here at lunchtime and all the dishes were very good indeed. Good solid pub food well prepared.
