Shop conversion which makes an effort at being a pub unlike many. Ale was okay on this visit.

To many ales on for the amount of customers in during the day. Beer average which is a shame as the Guv is trying. Worth a visit.

Interesting place, small long bar area that opens up towards the back.
Good crowd in when I visited, a mix of home and away football fans, all good no idiots.
A large selection of real ales on draught, had a good local (ish) brew.
The food looked and smelt good, was nearly tempted!
Good pub, good friendly staff, nice price, definitely worth a visit in Scunthorpe and you've not been before.

Paid a visit here on Saturday 11th June. Nice narrow bar with approx eight beers on. Handy for the station.

Small, single bar pub with a restaurant upstairs. The place was heaving yesterday lunchtime. The narrow bar was standing room only, making entry to the pub quite difficult, let along getting to the bar and getting served. 8 real ales were on, including 2 from Milestone. Addlestones was the cider. Walls feature various legal memorabilia. Somehow despite the crowds, food was doing a roaring trade, with a pie (I think with chips & mushy peas) selling for just under 4. A friendly pub with a good beer selection. Although a bit too compact on matchdays.

Nice pub with friendly staff and customers. A choice of 8 beers, and all the ones we tried were good, although as others have mentioned, a couple were slightly cold. The football specials were really good, baps are 3.50 now, and to top the day, first win of the season.

Nice little pub with very pretty bar maids and a good selection of real ales. If there was one criticism, it would be that they were slighly too cold, but it would be harsh as all the ones we tried were good (about 7 different ones).
Food was football special, basic, but just what people wanted. Home made steak pie chips and peas (which looked superb) for 4.50 or sausage or bacon barm and chips for 2.50. Great value
Would thoroughly recommend it, and should our team ever play them again, we'll be back there like a shot

Had a few oint in here last week before the match. Canny little bar, friendly staff and a decent pint. Not far from the train station. Just a pity Newcastle got beat.

Very impressive pub with honesty friendliness and warmth not harmed in no small way by attractive staff if can be allowed and forgiven for saying so.Only sorry the Iron went down as Southampton are now a division above albeit i doubt for long. Great beer and wish it every success.

This used to be the best pub in Scunny but beer quality has unfortunately fallen by the wayside in recent years - too many beers on to keep them in good nick with a limited throughput, and most kept too cold. If you have to go, the Taylor's Landlord is usually the best. But The Malt Shovel in Ashby (2 miles away) is a better bet.

Goats cheese sandwich with a pint .... absolute dream at this pub !!

Had a beer or three in here before and after Saints played the Iron. Friendly pub, had a good chat with the reglars about why it had dropped out of the GBG - they don't like the local CAMRA!
8 real ales: Daleside bitter, Kelham Island Scrumtious, Black Dog Schooner, Landlord, Salopian Hop Twister, Ashover Poets Tipple, Bradfield Blonde and Beartown Bearskinful. All that I had were in reasonable condition although a shade on the cold side.
I did't eat in here but the food they were bringing out looked excellent, genuinely home cooked it seemed and reasonably priced.
Not too far from the station and well worth a visit.

Excellent pub with well kept ales and friendly atmosphere. Always first on the 'to visit' for away games at Scunny. Unfortunately there's 2 divisions difference at present so no away trips likely.
