I have only been here a few times, but its an absolutely lovely pub, just a short walk up from the fried chicken and hoodie hovel of Norwood Road and Knights Hill. Pleasent barstaff and a lovely garden. Never been in when its had more than 2 other people in there, but imagine it would be a good atmosphere with a good crowd in there. A nice change from some of the airless ponce fests up in Crystal Palace. Moving away soon so will miss this place.

This pub is very welcoming to pleasant kids, I had a party here recently, included 3 babies and a toddler. Then again their parents have manners and enjoy their kids company. Unlike some who drag their buggies in, order hot chocolate and allow the kiddies to run around screaming and throwing stuff all over the place. It's not a blooming creche it's a pub with a nice mellow atmosphere! This is a lovely place for a drink with pleasant staff, who thankfully take no ***p. I'd recommend it to anyone. Redlegs.

I'm puzzled by the comments that children aren't welcome in the pub. I went in there the other day, and there were three or four children in there, and the staff were fine about it. But I've also been in there when parents have treated the place as a free creche, and made no effort to stop their children shrieking and running around, and the staff have had to have a quiet word with the selfish parents. Personally, i think it's a very friendly pub overall, with a good quiz night, and a good area out the back for smokers.

This pub has attractive decor and is placed in reasonably attractive surroundings. However due to the location it doesn't get much passing trade and can often seem empty (even on a friday night). Which is why it is surprising that the welcome from staff and proprietor is remarkably less than warm. Children are definitely not welcome but they do have a good selection of board games.

A real shame, this place had potential. The refurb was ok. The pizza's are nice if a bit over priced. Being this far from the beaten track they'll struggle to gain much passing trade, hence it is almost always empty as its been for long time now. You think they would rely on providing a good customer experience, unfortunaley they don't bother. No real effort made, and kids are not welcome here in contrast to what they say on their website.

This pub is very nice! I like to first take a stroll in the lovely Norwood Park opposite the pub, take in the panoramic views of London and then nip off for a cheeky pint and a delicious pizza... Aaaaah. I also enjoy all the board games on offer, the beer garden and the Sunday roasts. YUM.
The owners are very friendly and the place is done up to a very high standard but is not, most importantly, pretentious!
Two thumbs up.

The best pub in the area. Very friendly staff, good food, comfortable seating, and a deck out the back. It seems to combine the best of a modern and an old-fashioned pub.

This is probably the best pub in the area (which I know well having lived there for 30 years), the owners are friendly, the atmosphere is mellow and the interior . Whilst it is modern it has not stopped being a proper pub. There are good outside areas including seating facing the park, board games and pleasant local regulars. Knocks spots off over-hyped places like the Mansion.

There was no cask ale when we went so I bought some Hoogarten, these two glasses of draft beer cost me 9.00!! Thats a new high for me and way too high. I also got a piece of lemon in mine when I didnt request it - I think breaks a law about adulteration of edible products. The Park pub is not my kind of place but hey it still has customers.

Really great pub, esp. now beer garden is open. Excellent beer, proper pints!!! Food is good, decent snacks and homemade pizza. The guys that own it are friendly and make you feel very at home, would go again and definitely recommend it.

This pub was revamped before Christmas and I've only recently discovered it. I've been in 4 times since January and it's always been a really good experience. The new owner/manager is very friendly and chips in with the cooking during quiet periods. He's done a very good job of striking a balance with the decor, food and atmosphere. It's smart yet cozy and hasn't fallen for the over-egged gastropub trap. You can go to the Park for one too many or for a meal and a glass of very good wine without feeling you're in the wrong place. Food is currently mainly pizza which is well made by hand but apparently the menu will be expanding soon.
