Recently refurbished in a semi-industrial style with use of rough hewn timbers and blue/grey paintwork but none the worse for that as it offers something different to other nearby villages. My pint of Hook Norton Off the Hook was in good condition and cost £4.50; I didn't try the Hooky or Old Hooky. No crisps though on a Sunday afternoon as they had sold out! The outside seating area is paved but does have some views and is therefore quite pleasant.

Hook Norton tied house and cask marque accredited - which make the pint of soup they sold me for £4.10 all the more incredible. A cloudy, poor Hook Norton Gold.

Two other punters in the place on a Sunday lunch and they were of Coffees.

Slow turnover may have explained the dodgy pint.

Can't really say too much to recommend it based on my visit.

Spent an interesting Thursday evening in here. Mix of locals and visitors all getting on well. Pool table and popular juke box. Decent ales and good sandwich menu.

Feels more like a proper pub than the Crown and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming.

Again, like many Cotswolds Inns, this place felt a little too much like a restaurant.

There is a bar with a pool table on your left as you go up the stairs, but I can't imagine there ever being a decent atmosphere generated in there.

On the plus side, the Sunday roast I scoffed in the beer garden was amazingly only 7. Well over a tenner most places these days. It even came with it's own side dish of vegetables.

Blockley isn't as pretty as Chipping Campden, Snowshill or the Slaughters and I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.

Very busy, couldn't find a space to eat. Hook Norton bitter good. Too many dogs.

Warm, welcoming to people and dogs. Food and beer are excellent, have'nt tried the dog chews but the dogs seem to like them. Pleasant staff and surroundings, landlord has a great sense of humour. Pub and toilets spotlessly clean. would and do recommend

During a recent visit I found the staff friendly and helpful. Above all the food was excellent and very good value even if the portions were enormous!!

Went for lunch and a pint on a weekend. The beer was fine but the food was tasteless and overpriced. Not a very welcoming pub.

Called into the Great Western on New Years Eve for a meal at lunchtime, and enjoyed the meal and our Hook Norton beer in this pub with a modern lounge and beautiful views.
