Basic locals. Pub that welcomes visitors in a friendly
manner regular change of ales, when I visited there was 'wells eagle' and 'tom brown' on tap straight from the barrel behind the bar, both in very good condition, both at a good price of �2.80 a pint compared to the cove inn at �3.20

Quirky "proper" pub - sort of 70s style inside. Very friendly owners and customers. The first beer i tried came from the cellar rather than the barrel on the bar and was too cold - but they brought me a bowl to warm it up! Second pint was from on the bar - better temperature. But I didn't really like either of them - one from Brixham and one from Dorset BC. Beers change all the time though.
Worth dropping in if you're in the area.

What a lovely pub! Everything you want from a good natured landlady, cheerful punters, a remarkable range of draft cider, a belting selection of cask ales, through to gut busting country cooking.
Having enjoyed the skiffle band "Dissipated Men" we sat down to a repast of pork cooked in cider. The dog is pub friendly, and the smoking shelter is where it should be - out on the street.

A strange place, firstly this is clearly the best pub on Portland, the range of real ales that HAVE been on is clear testimony to that. Sadly ( yes , they did apologise) only one beer was available. fortunately the beer was Yeovil's Summerset which is truly great! The pub itself is a weird, you do not know wether they are just moving in or just about to move out, it looks like an unpacked jumble sale! Thedominatrix like female who ran the place wafted through giving the locals just enough time to tug on a forelock before confiding the fact that she was on some important mission or other.It seemed all a bit like a top hat with a label marked ten and sixpence and a daft rabbit doing aerobics.

Pleasant old-fashioned, in the best sense of the word, locals pub. Ever changing real ales, often at least one local brew, and cider too. Dog friendly if you are out walking. Music too some evenings.

Nothing special to report about the pub itself, but we were fortunate enough to visit on the barmaids first day on the job. Thanks for the ridiculously undercharged round!
