Now being demolished, with the promise of liuxury flats instead. No surprise!

Closed and boarded up for some time now. Advertised as being transformed into four(?) luxury flats. RIP yet another pub.

This pub has obviously been purchased by a property sepculator who decided to run it into the ground - as pub_aficianado stated open short hours and little beer choice I think..anyway boarded up now and planning permission requested for conversion to housing...the new owner should be ashamed of themselves. Still, get your objections in on Bexley council website this pub is in a conservation area. Rated O/10 as its closed

Seems to be on its last legs. Open just 'Evenings and Sunday lunchtime - No food' and the freehold advertised for sale.

Decided to take a chance on this place with the Mrs one mid-week evening for a pint, and I hoped, some food. We walked in, and walked right back out again. The atmosphere was unwelcoming and it made you feel like you'd stepped into the 'Slaughtered Lamb' from An American Werewolf In London. There was only one barman who was busy chatting to a couple of regulars, and didn't bother looking up as we came in. Not a good first impression.

I went to the Old Wick on Tuesday; my first visit to the pub. A good selection of beer, friendly bar-staff and great decor. I will certainly go back.

Second visit and agree to a degree with maidenman. Remember those Hammer films when the hero walks into a pub and everything stops, well this pub is the same. I stood at the bar for 5 minutes before the guvnor [I presume]left an attractive blonde perched on a stool and deigned to venture on to his side of the bar and ask what I wanted. OK pub though.

I've just reread the GBG entry write up for this pub and I'm wondering if the writer was somewhere else. "friendly staff make everyone feel welcome...." No dogs rule, what about the one wandering round the place?
I don't like to post negative reviews, as I try to choose pubs I think I will like but this was a wrong un. On entering the barman/landlord seemed totally put out to have to actually go round to the service side of the bar and serve us, sorry to disturb your chat with your cronies fella.
Beers are Sheps but only two on, Kent Best and Spitfire. Signs around the place suggest this is a community pub with all kinds of activities and events on, but there were just a few rather dubious characters and the landlord yesterday. I think I know why.

A cosy little pub with very expensive prices. Tele. on with sound turned down, radio on full blast, emmm. Not many people in there when I visited, but I would guess the patrons are all locals rather than visitors.
