This pub should be working. I went there a couple of times soon after its opening to eat and couple of other times for a quick pint. Thierry the owner was charming, the food was excellent., the garden lovely and child-friendly. However the service kills all its good points. The wait for the food was over an hour on each occasion (we weren't just unlucky as many friends have reported similar) and the bar staff, whilst nice enough, are slow and appear unconfident in what they are doing.
So the old adage that you are only as good as your weakest link rings true here unfortunutely. Such a shame - as this place should fly in this area.

I want to like this pub because it is my closest, but I can't. The French restaurant has now consumed all of the back of the pub. The small front bar that is left is geared for food too and is usually empty. The only room for drinkers is on the tables out the front. I'll still pop in occasionally for one drink but it's not the place to go for a night out.

Is there not an ironing board site for you to review sophiebeckw ? My view of this pub is merely an opinion.

Oh dear, another sad individual who clearly doesnt get out much - nick was 1986 the last time you went out for a drink? Prices and decor have moved on a tad since then...I enjoy this pub, the food is great, varied wine list, garden is lovely and the staff are friendly. what more do you want from your local?...to be frank.

Oh dear. I was in here circa 1986 in its previous guise as the hand and flower. It was a proper pub then but sadly not now. Like many many other pubs its taken the sofa and dried flowers route. Its a worthless souless ugly plastic overpriced shithouse to be frank.

Ah, the Frogless Leg...what a fine hostelry! Small, but beautifully formed, with a small garden/patio area at the back for 'al fresco' revellers (and we don't see many of them in England in April... even though it was St Georges Day!) Nice little pub, right opposite the lovely Ham Common (& pond). We saw 2x enormous orange hornets in the back garden here, near the fish pond/feature, thingy! They were gigantic...!! One of them had a frogs leg in its mouth...!! I'm lergic to wasps, so we couldn't stay long. I'll get my Ozzie-Mozzie hat (with the net) for next time! (Maybe the French eat hornets with a soupcon of garlic..) ! TJ
