A varied selection of clientele use the bars in this hotel, we sat in the outside area at lunchtime (unfortunately it was also the smoker's retreat) and returned in the evening and sat inside next to the bar. Not a great selection of ales, but what I had was most acceptable. There was a party and disco in progress in the evening so it was fairly full. The lunchtime sandwich was very good, service was from the food bar where it was freshly prepared while I waited

Eating sort of pub, wide selection of food but limited selection of ale.

Selection of Beer obviously improved. I selected the Itchen valley Winchester ale which was very nice and the decor and funiture gave a feeling of oppulence. definately one for the grown ups.

.....and the fact that you need a torch to navigate your passage to the bar! ;-/

Historic coaching inn, with an additional wing of modern rooms; let down by a poor selection of beers.
