Lovely pub a bit off the beaten track on the road to Gunwalloe / Church cove. This is a free house which was serving Exmoor ale, Otter, Skinners Betty Stoggs & Sharps Doom Bar, as well as Cornwall Cider Co Apple Slayer from Truro. We visited on a hot day after an afternoon at Church cove in July 14. If you sit on the benches at the front you get a fantastic vista of Mounts bay in full sun. Food was also excellent (try the home made soups & cheese board).Good mixture of locals / holiday makers as well... Definitely recommended.

Good food with local seafood. Specials change regularly and friendly service. Visited twice while on holiday.

Dreadful service and ordinary, over-priced food. Very isappointed after many recommendations from friends.

Twice visited this pub and found the food of high quality though very expensive. Was very disappointed with the attitude of some of the more senior staff. The pub was very child unfriendly, the head waiter / owner seemed very annoyed when families with children entered his pub. In one instance telling the family that there was no room for them whilst allowing several other people to come in shortly afterwards and take seats without having prior reservations. No atmosphere in the pub and cars park directly in front of the windows spoiling the sea view. On the Saturday evening there were at least five tables in the main area who were commenting negatively on the delays in service. We personally had to wait 25 minutes from starters being taken away to main course arriving. Not very impressed with this highly recommended eatery.

Warm welcoming atmosphere. Beer well kept if a bit cold. However, the food was not as good as this time last year.

Have just had a most enjoyable stay , good food and pleasant attentive staff. We enjoyed our breakfast served by the owner- more an atmosphere of being a guest in someone's home. The landlady was helpful re information about the area which added to our stay.

Had been for a memorable meal here two years ago and recently stayed for wedding anniversary. Food not half as good, staff never checked back or commented on the fact that it was half eaten. Landlady didnt seem interested in non locals and on a saturday night the pub was empty by 9.30 so felt compelled to go to our room as everything was being put away.
