Just read the previous reviews ( this is BEER IN THE EVENING) so let's do just that. Sheps all the way. Average, nothing more. Masterbrew tired. But lovely surroundings and ambience. No complaints. But not really a pub anymore!

This is a pleasant Sheps pub by the creek and in sight of the brewery. Attractive white weather-boarding with black doors and windows. The inside is more restaurant than pub with tables laid our ready for diners.

Food and service very good. Will visit again.

Recently dined here on a Saturday evening, whilst on a short break in Faversham. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Mexican food was tasty and well presented- large portions and good value for money. Nice creek side location. Would definitely visit again.

Food is always amazing, never had a bad meal. Good atmosphere and really friendly staff. If you ask nicely they will always accommodate. Brilliant voucher scheme and on the Faversham card scheme.

Great pub .. not really a local but more for dining .. Great Mexican food and I would reccomend the Fahitas.. Site on the Creek with ample car park .. perfect on a summers day or cold winter night. Friendly staff especially waitresses.

Had a very nice time here last night with friends. Service was friendly, good and fairly laid back, but not overly attentive. Food was of a very good quality, although if we'd known the size of the mains we would have skipped the starters! My friend and I both wanted the duck fajita, so the waitress recommended we share a double, and it was more than enough for us to share (and saved a few quid on the bill as well!). Might be a tad expensive for Faversham, but you do get a lot for the money (starters, mains, 6 drinks, and coffee was 94 - tap water was free and they were happy to provide more).
Beer was good (late red) and well kept, but shame they only had that and master brew on.
After we had stuffed ourselves, we asked if we could move outside and have coffee, offering to settle up and pay for the coffees in advance. No problem, they said - and you can settle up after the coffee as well. Nice touch.

A bit nervous to be invited to lunch here after reading the reviews below, but, it was fine - friendly staff, standard Shep's range of beers, all in all a very pleasant, if not exceptional, experience. Would I go back? Not to make a special trip but no where near as bad as others have reported (and I'm fussy!)

food is far to expensive for faversham

This seems like a nice pub. but DON'T go there for food. Have been there twice now. The first time was as part of a large party and the service was pretty woeful but I thought it might just be because of the size of the group. The second time I went in a group of 5 or 6 on a Sunday afternoon. Having placed our order for food we popped back to the bar after 40 minutes to find out when we could expect our lunch. They were rather busy and told us it would be out in twenty minutes... After waiting another 30 minutes one of our party overheard a conversation outside the kitchen on her way to the toilets making it quite clear that they were prioritising tables that had booked. Asking again when our food would be ready we were told it hadn't even been started yet (more than an hour after placing our oder)
If we had been told that our food would be a while when we ordered, or if we had been given a truthful answer after 40 minutes I might not have had so much of an issue, but they appear to have no idea of good customer service and the value of treating your customers with respect.
A real shame as the location is so nice, but I'm guessing this is the only reason that they're still going as the food isn't even very good.

Visited for the first time this weekend on a recommendation of a friend. Must say quite pleased. Food was good quality, large portions and pleasantly served. Being a Shep-Neam pub, real ale is limited but of good quality. Recommend and we be returning ourselves.

Looks great from the outside, in an old-fashioned weatherboarded Kentish pub sort of way. Inside, it has been 'done up' (or 'done over') in a more modern pale timber style. Nothing wrong with my pint of Whitstable Bay, and it was a pleasure to sit out the front and watch the world go by. Not sure I would choose to go there if cold or wet, but fine on a summer's day.

poor food, poor beer just poor all round. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Excellent in what way? Give us a clue.

Excellent!

Used to come here because the pub, concentrating mostly on food rather than drink, was pretty much all non-smoking. Beer fairly indifferently kept, and following the general Shep's rules, the building was getting a bit shabby and the last time I visited, in February, was freezing. The woman sitting at the next table to me was wearing a sheepskin jacket and was still cold! Last time we ate the food was OK, but the corn on the cob was cold (!) and had garlic butter on it which was pretty unpleasant. Best to visit in summer when you can sit on the Brents and watch the ducks and swans in the Creek.

Excellent food. Wine over priced if you buy by the glass. Ales are inconsistent probably due to too many on offer for an eatery without the sales of ale to be able to maintain a consistent standard.
Service is usually very good although not fast.
This is perhaps the best restaurant in Faversham but as casual drinkers are not really catered for and the inconsistent ale quality I feel it deserves a low rating on a site dedicated to pubs and beer.

A fantastic Mexican food pub. Well presented food, real quality eatery. Great Shepherd Neame beer, probably the best pint of Masterbrew I've ever had. This pub really knows how to do food and drink properly.
