Looks like they've dropped Fullers and gone to Shepherd Neame. Beer is the same price and still excellent although you'll be drinking Bishops Finger and Spitfire rather than ESB. They had another one as well, Whitstable Bay?
Cheapest beer in Wendover and always good. Doggie friendly too.
The grottiest pub in the village but as is the norm, the keeper of the best beer.
Went to three other pubs in the area and the ESB here was head and shoulders above everything else served and 2 of those were fullers pubs.
Cracking music - never entered a pub with Hawkwind on before!
still a good pub to drink in and do happy hour on Friday and Saturday 5 till 6 pm most bitter and lager 2 pints for £5
lovely traditional pub. nice building, nice traditional layout, atmophere gets going on the weekend evenings. proper pub. the various staff who've been on in a my few visits have all been great.
have to laugh at the toilets though. anyone whos around the 6ft mark will bang their head against the sloped wall above the urinals. looks like a few unwahsed souls have fallen asleep in this standing/pissing position too over the years, judging by the grease marks.

After what the managers and regulars did to Eamonn; never again.
Another memory-lane visit last night, where my friend and I continued watching the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony after crossing the road from the Red Lion. Everyone was there to enjoy themselves, and both staff and regulars were very friendly. Fuller's ESB was on very good form.
I have to disagree with the previous comments - A lovely local pub, reasonable prices and a good selection of beers/ales - Complete with a sleeping dog asleep on the sofa! Very friendly staff too. Even said goodbye at the end of their shift - will visit again!!
don't get in as much as i would like, but is still the best pub in Wendover and by far the best for watching rugby
You're not alone Sarah, the manager (sic) acts like a smirking gay wimp.
This place will close soon. Empty most of the time; and Paul Crook, the manager, is the cause. Only sports fans at a weekend. People I know and have met on my way to to work on the train tell me that they do not go in the White Swan anymore; it's more than 'just not bothering' - they actively avoid the Swan, it is being boycotted.

Gutless wet inbred cowards

Tried this pub for the first time after shopping in Wendover (Rumseys) - its a proper pub & needs to be supported, good crowd in their.
Visit yesterday with a friend confirmed the good reviews it has received recently. By far the friendliest of the three pubs we visited, as mentioned by previous reviewers the staff and locals are cheerful and welcoming, and the beer (Butcombe Bitter and Fullers ESB, enjoyed last night) was very well-kept.
Great place, and my 8/10 rating remains well-deserved.
Very welcoming place. Friendly locals. Shame about the gents toilets.
The ESB is excellently kept and priced.
The staff and regulars are cheerful.
A true drinkers pub.
One criticism - televisions do not belong in pubs.
Lovely
Popped in here yesterday afternoon. Batemans XB was an unexpected surprise. The cost of 2.56 was another - fantastic.
And to top it all off, the regular that reaks of urine was nowhere to be seen. Marvellous.

"Don't quite know how that happened but I'm back!"
We know.

Don't quite know how that happened but I'm back!
The Guinness here is absolutely top notch and the beers are always well looked after and presented.
Highly recommended.

In the nicest possible way this is 'Ye Olde Trademan's' Pub. If you want brickie, sparks, decorator, plumber, computer pro in the village...just cast a net over the White Swan. Probably sells more quality Guinness than anywhere outside Livepool on the mainland, no joke!
"Blessed be the man who has a smattering of enemies, for their enmity shall make him a hero!" But let us cut to the chase; always a very decent pint of Guinness in the White Swan!

I make a mistake last posting. An old fashioned English pub (I am from Ghana). Fullers beer is not a personal favourtite of mine but well kept and with one beer rotating as guest.
Dearest Farian+ Aliases Was it not you or one of your aliases that trashed...Alison (Red Lion) Blakey (White Swan) Peter Doriasamey especially by name, and "The Cocksuckers" in the White Swan, and others?

Popped in with an old pal recently, I don't use this place very often, but I will now. First class well served beers served right up to the brim (Take note Red Lion) friendly locals pub. Rather odd weirdo there, muttering and talking to himself. Could this be the "world famous in Wendover" eamonn_tabasco_boy that I keep reading about on this site?
good place to drink and very friendly
Apart from a fresh coat of paint, the pub remains pretty well unchanged since we last came a year or so ago.
Great pub to finish a crawl! Lady behind the bar this evening was very friendly. A well-kept pint of Fullers ESB, too, and thanks for the welcome.
This is the true oasis in Wendover for character and professionally presented traditional ales.
Paul & Mel are the best.
Always guaranteed a damn good pint of real ale!
Paul and Mel are the best, and most professional landlord and landlady in the village.
Bravo!

Popped in here last Friday at about 4.30pm for a cheeky pint after skiving off early from work. I've recently moved to Wendover, and this is the first pub I've tried.
It was quiet, but that's to be expected for the time of day. Had a rather toothsome pint of Gales' Butser - at a thoroughly reasonable price of 2.27. The young chap serving was very friendly, as I recall. It's hard to give a definitive view after such a brief visit, but I certainly did enjoy it.
Nice, welcoming pub. Good well kept beer and friendly service. Surprisingly unpretentious for a town like Wendover - give it a try.
It has friendly staff and the beer was of good quality and a reasonable price (2.37 a pint of lager).
There was a nice mix of people who were friendly and welcoming. The ongoing darts match was entertainment in itself.
A nice place overall.
One if not the only pub in the village that is still a pub ie no food ok for few beers not good for an all nighter realy you need to do a pub crawl in this village every night.
A small, narrow freehouse opposite the Red Lion. Very much a basic boozer. No food. Rock and blues feature in the background music which is at a sufficiently low volume to permit conversation. The pub has a dartboard and, allegedly, its own darts team. Last night (11/6/03) was a "Fullers night" in which the three handpumps pulled foaming pints of Chiswick, pride and ESB. I partook of the Chiswick which was in excellent condition, and just 1.90 a pint. Staff very friendly and welcoming, and the locals are down-to-earth and chilled-out. A visit is recommended!
