I haven't been in since a while. The open mic afternoons were awful and put me off. Painful to listen to (particularly the preacher with the stick) and it was compulsory listening too, couldn't get away from it unless I was in the garden.

Once, the only guy who was any good drew sniggers and unwarranted criticism (he won them over with some hot guitar though). I found out he didn't even want to be there but was cajoled into playing. That made the hecklers look like wimps

Have these open mic (mike?) occasions stopped? If so I may pop back in.
