Report from Glossop Pub Crawl on 03.05.2014: now serving four bees from the Marston range - Pedigree, EPA, IPA and Jennings Cumberland Ale. We tried the Cumberland Ale & IPA which were vey good. The interior of the pub is traditional in style and very comfortable, and was busy when we called.

I have regularly visited this pub over a number of years, and it is noticeable that changes of licensee in the last year have produced much more consistency in the quality of the cask beer than was the case in some of the periods mentioned in previous reviews. On my latest visit for a charity fun day (end of May) there were five cask ales available: from memory Wychwood Battleaxe, Mansfield Sunbeam, Adnams Ghost Ship and the usual Marston's bitter & Pedigree. The four I tried were all very decent. Looks like the new people are making a pretty decent fist of it to me.

Nice traditional pub. I tried the Marstons Pedigree which was OK, but not the best I have ever tasted. Well worth a visit though.

Nice pub but, for some reason does not always have Marstons on!! Having said that whatever beer I have tried here has been good.

Tried here as part of a crawl at the weekend. Nice pub but unfortunately the Pedigree was not up to much, drinkable but a long way from on top form.

Nice pub, but the Pedigree was a bad pint.

The Prince of Wales is a nice pub, just a few minutes walk up the main road from the train station. The interior of the pub is traditional in style and very comfortable. The beers are Marstons Bitter, Marstons Pedigree and one guest ale, all served by hand pump and are well kept. Well worth a visit.
