The Globe Hotel, Glossop

I've tried this pub a few times over the years and the beer has never got any better. Very thin tasteless, with a very peculiar background taste, quite unpleasant. A few years ago they used to do "beer swaps" with other breweries which added to the variety, all that stopped some time ago because none of the other breweries wanted the beer brewed here, even if it was virtually free.
A local Beer Festival made the mistake of putting some of this stuff on, at the end of the Festival they were completly sold out of beer, except for the beer from the Globe and ended up pouring three quarters of a barrel down the drain!
The pub wouldn't be too bad if they just stopped trying to brew their own beer and bought some in from proper microbreweries.

The Oakwood, Glossop

Seem to be doing more of the Robinson specials that they brew. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere with outside seating area covered with coloured sails.
Their range of home made burgers are great and interesting to say the least; The latest has been an Elvis Burger, 1lb of beef, with deep fried battered banana and peanut butter toastie, onion rings, bacon, maple syrup, real fries and salad, apparently several thousand calories. Think only one person has finished it!!

The Prince of Wales, Glossop

Tried here as part of a crawl at the weekend. Nice pub but unfortunately the Pedigree was not up to much, drinkable but a long way from on top form.
