A friend recommended this place. Visited last weekend and although I was impressedd with their bottle selection, I found the staff to be awkward and rude. It wasn't busy and I don't think it's too much to expect a basic level of politeness from your server. Will continue in my quest!

This used to be a great pub. Change in people running the bar has really shown what makes a great pub is the staff. It's dingy with the same people in the same seats. Most of the tables were reserved with timings you were allowed to sit on!

Love this pub......always a great atmosphere. A nice mix of clientele.........food very reasonable. Def worth a visit.

Great little local, I wish it sold Harveys but then I'm biased when it comes to beer!
Generally friendly and relaxed, if a little loud at weekends. 8/10

This pub is quite a nice back street local which sold Adnams Bitter & Broadside when I visited. Plenty of locals were drinking bitter so I decided to go for the Adnams Bitter. It was served in an Adnams glass with a thick glass bottom which retains heat which was a shame as the glass had literally just been taken from the washer and pushed up the beer temperature a few degrees and made it taste very poor and warm. If you are going to sell good beer at leastknow the basics. I can only put this down to poor staff training.

Has stayed consistently good through 2004. The drinks are good, the food can be excellent, and most of the barstaff put the customer first. There are indeed a lot of "youngish" customers, but over-40s like me can feel equally welcome. Overall The Windmill is a good place to go.
