Having been bought by the Ladhar group from Sir John Fitzgeralds the place has been renamed as Pleased To Meet You (Tynemouth). Has a couple of real ales on from mainly local/regional breweries.

This place has improved. Up to four real ales on, mainly from local microbreweries (Two By Two, Almasty etc.) but also from Yorkshire Dales and others. Can get extremely busy especially on weekend evenings as expected. Holds some special events , meet the brewer and tap takeovers.

Visited as Hugo's - high quality place busy with Sunday lunch but localish beer was very tasty, maintaining high standards in the real ale pubs round the coast. Love Tynemouth.
|
Now re-named 'Hugo's At The Coast', went in a few weeks ago. Had two real ales on. Tends to cater for the usual Tynemouth glitterati.

Get yourself along on a Tuesday night and cheer on the old clodgers who make up the darts team

A great local pub for a quiet afternoon drink. Typical range of lagers with some real ales. Can get very busy on the weekends with large queues to the bar. However the wednesday night quiz is a fantastic night out. It's been my local since i was a wee lad. (I won't tell you how wee though just incase jim sees this.)
