Still pretty empty... The place has a 90's feel with Pool tables and wide open areas typical of town centre pubs, with seats around the edges. Was probably packed in about 1990 before the smoking ban, Mr Spoons, recessions and all that... Beer choice also limited. Hope it stays open... It did have around 4 dart boards, so maybe has a decent darts league or something.

The Caledonian Flying Scotsman was in good nick but the pub empty and soul-less, hope it stays open but wouldn't put my money on it , 5/10

Not too impressed with this place Music far too loud 3 hand pumps but only one ale on which was Caledonian Flying Scotsman @ 3.00 a pint was not bad. One pump had Duchers but clip turned round and the other was blank.

The Black Swan it seems is up for sale again. So I've been told... So brave takers that want "locals" that like to do sports as well as watch them (only darts, pool and football) apart from that they also did "Crib & domino's ... If I've missed any I'm sorry.lol. Also there is a smoking area in the yard for the less healthy people that like the Black Swan, ..And there are more than a few of them

Totally agree its got well served ale at an ave(some nights under ave ) price .. Good juke box loud enough to hear but not so loud you can't talk to the person by your side. Good tribute bands and artists at the weekend. A landlord that cares about his punters. A darts team again (Monday night for them that arn't from this area) But best of all it can be called a "local" again, first time since "Roy (chubby) Brown" R.I.P or even "Tony" that had to take a pub in Coventry left it.. Those that had the place between then and now I won't comment on as I was told by me Mam " If you can't say anything good about someone, don't say anything."

This place is really buzzing at weekends - fri thro Sun - Jim, the landlord, has some great real time bands and individuals, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart etc, well worth a visit.
Beers is ok too!!!!!!!!

Big, bright, airy pub with a good range of beers. The Speckled Hen is one of the best I have ever tasted. Friendly staff and landlord and landlady, freshly made rolls served each day except, Tuesday lunch when you can get good hot meals
