please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The Pheasant is situated in a small inland village and is the only pub there. It was fairly quiet on a late Bank Holiday lunchtime. Most people were leaving. Others were just finishing their lunch. It is a large pub with 2 rooms and some outdoor seating too. Ales were Betty Stogs, Tribute & Doom Bar. Nice location. But little else to recommend for.

A wonderful village pub, service and food quality was incredibly high and I would recommend a visit to anyone.

A friendly welcoming atmosphere, I can't rate it high enough.

Aug 11 - Found bar staff very friendly and willing to please - good beer (no cider though). Lunch food we had (on two occassions) was excellent - changing selection of daily specials (local fish & meat) & good value - gave extra scoops of ice cream for children at no extra cost. Overall - a good local and far better than the typical 'tourist' pubs in the area.

Not very pleased with our visit. Arrived at just before twelve and went in to the deserted bar. Barman arrived a few minutes later and said they were not yet open. OK
Sat down at one of the tables that didn't have a reserved sign only to be moved by said barman to another table in a dark corner of the bar. He then removed the menus we had taken from the bar and replaced them with a very limited lunch menu. I also was not overstruck at having my party addressed as 'You guys'. In fact I found his whole attitude a bit offhand. After glancing at the aforesaid meagre menu we decamped to another hostelry where we received better service and a warmer welcome.

Helpful bus driver dropped us off at the door of this pub. Lovely setting in the village and a friendly local. There happened to be a beer festival on for the summer solstice and there was a good choice of ales. Enjoyed sitting out front with other festival goers chatting while enjoying the food and ales.

This is a rare gem of a true 'local' pub in a pleasant Cornish village. It is still very much the hub of the community and seves good food at reasonable prices and a fair selection of beers. One of those pubs where the cricket team wander in for a pint or two after a saturday match and where customers of all ages are to be found.

Pub in the middle of nowhere. You'll possibly find as many horses here as people. Even though its quiet its set in a nice place so you may as well go here because you are stuffed for other places nearby

Food and real ales both very good. Children were welcome plus a pool table to beat the wife(much to her annoyance)
