Wharf, Dartfordback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Interesting that it's so long since the last review. My most recent experience (five years ago) was a disastrous family outing because of unacceptable food in the downstairs carvery and long waits for even worse service. It resulted in massive discounts/free drinks on the night plus hefty free vouchers (unused!) for a further visit. Why don't I see any recent glowing endorsements?

Good food, good drink, do Hurlimaans and Oranjeboom as well as others, also have a very decent carvery on a sunday...splendid setting overlooking the lake but it really is in the middle of nowhere and you need to cab it to get here. high 7/10

A typical purpose built factory type pub, that said it has a lovely setting by the lake, food and drinks are expensive and staff always seem miserable/ unhelpful, good if you have kids.

Lovely little pub, situated by a lake. Outdoor play for the kids who are welcomed. A little out the way, which makes it nicely situated. Can use the fastrack buses to get there just a short walk from the galleon boulevard stop. Lovely atmosphere, decor and location. Well worth a visit for a drink or meal. Fair prices.

Yeah true, you really do have to drive, or get a cab if drinking. You wouldnt know this place was here Lovely in the summer sitting outside near the lake you could think u was in the country great place to take the wife or girlfriend for a nice friendly chat/pint They have done the place up a treat multi levels, must have cost a bomb. Friendly staff, shep neame range, spitfire, orangeboom, etc Great Pub, and dont seem to rush you out at closing time. Also has carvery restuarant downstairs I think they make a lot of trade from this Highly recommend the place !!!!

Not the most accessible of Dartfords pubs, you either need to drive or be in the mood for a long walk. Although the pub is signposted it is easy to get lost around here or even accidently end up on the motorway. Dont let the Crossways Business Park location or proximity of the M25 and QE2 Bridge put you off. This is a fairly tranquil spot and there are enjoyable nature walks around the landscaped surroundings. Despite the out of the way location, the Wharf is very popular and it is very easy to spend an entire balmy evening here watching the sun go down over the lake. The pub is built in the style of a Thameside trading house and has a spacious interior with many separate areas to suit a variety of tastes. The main bar area overlooks the lake and there is now a recently added non smoking split level conservatory. Outside, there is a childrens play area and several benches along the wooden verandah that laps the waters edge where ducks, swans and coots battle it out for territory among the bulrushes. The beers are from the Shepherd Neame range and there is also a carvery restaurant on the lower floor. The only major downside is the bland music that is also piped to the outside. One of the few Dartford pubs that has made it into the Good Pub Guide and well worth the effort to visit.
