Went to a party in the function room. Only problem was that all the doors and windows had to remain shut, I assume because of noise. It was quite a warm day so wasn't long before the temperature inside became intolerable. The solution offered by the management was to stop the party for 10-15 mins so the door could be opened to let heat out! Not overly helpful or satisfactory. Wouldn't recommend booking here until such time as some aircon is installed or at least some fans to move the air around.

Nicely furnished, clean but quite clinical, like it's trying to be a wine bar rather than a pub.
Very non-busy for a Saturday night, probably understandable given the price of the drinks.
This is the sort of place that as "non-locals" the staff and the few customers there sort of stare at you - most unwelcoming and uncomfortable.
Enough said, would not visit again thanks.

Oh Good. I wasn't alone on the confusing bit then.. Is it a bar ?, it is a pub?, is it a club ? Nice pint of pride, but I usually like pubs of a more traditional nature, so not one for me I'm afraid. I'll leave this one for the youngsters..

I agree with the confusing comment. The look of this place often belies the clientelle and it can feel uncomfortable on occasions. I have been in here a few times and you never know what to expect.
Saying that the staff were really friendly and genuinely seemed to take pride in good service.....but as I say confusing place!

This pub confuses me!! The garden is lovingly tended and very pretty. Ive heard the food is good and ive been to private partys upstairs which have been great coz its the only place in town you can do that. My problem is that the bar downstairs is a bit pretentious - its packed on the wknd with lots of younsters all in black trying to look cool b4 going to revolution, and a bunch of old men trying to pray on the young girls - feels more like a club. Indeed they have a dj in the back room which is fine unless you actually want to have a conversation. You get the rugby lads in there aswell which is all good - but in a place so small when they get rowdy it can be a bit intimidating. Other then that you can alwasys guarantee bumping into someone you know and the staff seem very friendly - and you do get served quite quickly despite the small bar. I guess its nice having a variety of bars in the town it makes a pubcrawl more interesting.

Devoid of soul. Surly staff who appeared to be too self obsessed to serve. Not a pub in any sense of the word; and no Crisps! Take a torch or a walking stick to find your way around!

Was attending a private party at this bar in the upstairs function room a few weeks ago.Great food and extremely friendly staff.Lovely upstairs room a hidden gem. Will definitely be back seems a friendly and nice atmosphere throughout the bar upstairs and downstairs.

This bar can feel a little pretentious but is certainly better than the other re-furbed pub in Beaconsfield, the Saracens. Usually one real ale on and good atmosphere at weekends.
Only complaint would be the staff, who always seem to think they are doing you a favour by actually serving you.

great fun place to be

had a great night in this place last weekend, rally clean and smart, great music and a good mixture of people with no attitude! didn't even know it existed, it's a good find just tucked away

No longer a pub, but rather turned into an eclectic cafe. Foo foo colors, and modern seating. I say thumbs down. Bring back the old pub. Too sterile.

Fantastic place, lots going on at the weekends, fab dj most Saturdays, good food and friendly barstaff.

I agree, the place looks brilliant, and the Owner seems to have his finger on the pulse. Interstingly, they have kept the Real Ale alongside the more contemporary drinks and fittings, so they appear to be catering for all sorts of people. I sincerely hope that they manage to keep the throwbacks from the Swan and Saracens firmly out of the place, as once they have invaded, the reviews can become very very different.

Walked by the other day and asked the people working on it, they say its going to be a 'smart bar' whatever that means! Hope it will be, we could do with it!

I agree with Guezefan...it has become a disgusting hovel. If only Jamie Godrich could see it now!!! What a terrible terrible shame...

Since my review the pub has been taken over and has quickly slumped in to a disgusting chav pub. I am not even sure that they are going to keep selling real ale. The most expensive pub in Beaconsfield has now become the worst.

Very nice friendly pub. Awesome food nice beer garden pool table upstairs poker night on mondays salsa on tuesday big screen tv recommend to anyone

A quiet pub/restaurant in the quietest end of the Old Town. A small bar area with a snug to the left and a lounge to the right as you enter. Three of four hand pumps, including something from Rebellion. Beer quality is high, the highest in the town generally. The bar are is tiny but there is food out back and the restaurant is pretty big and apparently 'fancy' - whatever that means. Beer garden out the back also. Nicest pub in Beaconsfield, whatever that is worth.
