The Vine does have some traditional elements but purple coloured walls and half white painted pine tables do tend to imply that it sees itself as more of a destination dining pub (although to be fair there are plenty of other areas for drinking). Whilst the location is certainly pretty good, make sure you only look down the canal rather than back towards the industrial units. Good Sunday roast although other food options were disappointing. A definite plus was the beer; regulars are one handpull from Enville Ales and one from Kinver Brewery whereas I started with the guest Salopian Lemon Dream (also on sale were Tribute and Otter Bitter). The Salopian offering was good but the Kinver Edge was very good indeed. Staff seemed to be struggling a little with the number of visitors which is perhaps why you order all food at the bar.

Paid a return visit to the Vine, as I'd seen it had re-opened. I was quite impressed. It actually had a better ale choice than the Cross on this occasion, albeit not quite as good as the Constitutional Club - Kinver Crystal & May Bug, St Austell Tribute, Enville White & Ginger & Hopback Summer Lightning. I had a half of the Ginger, which was fine. I was anticipating the pub to be more of a restaurant. But only drinkers were pleasant. The interior with its bare boards looks more traditional than I remember it. There is a separate restaurant area and still a large outdoor drinking area overlooking the canal and locks. With the Cross struggling to provide any ale (my first 3 choices listed on the board were all unavailable), the Vine is a good option.

Tried the Vine after my first visit to Kinver Constitutional Club. Sadly, the Vine is now closed and there are to let signs on the exterior. Nevertheless, I can thoroughly recommend the Constitutional Club. It has a great selection of ales, a real cider and friendly staff and customers. The only problem is that you'll have to either join the club or be a CAMRA member to gain entry.

The Vine advertises itself as a restaurant with prices to match. If I want pub food I could quite easily have a pleasant meal at the White Harte in the village. At half the cost...

Four of us went to the Vine on the evening of Sat.24th July, 2010. We were seated for nearly 15 minutes before the menus came. The starters came reasonably quick with pleasing comments on the soup. Once finished we had to wait a while before the table was cleared and a good while before the orders were taken for the main course. A pretty long wait before the main courses arrived. My wife asked for new potatoes instead of chips. It came with chips. The fish and chips were bland, the steak was overdone and my haddock was too oily. The chicken was on the warm side.The vegetables were ok. Another long wait before the table was cleared and ten minutes before the sweet menu was presented. I had to catch the eye of the waitress several times who was busy chatting with a female member of the bar staff. A good 20 minutes before the sweets came. We asked for the custard to be separate for the bread and butter pudding. It came on the pudding. The cheesecake was ok. The pint of Enville was one of the worst I have ever had. The Kinver Edge was a vast improvement. We had lots of smiles and attention when it came to paying the bill. I must add that when the waitresses came to the table they were friendly but inbetween they were chatting a lot between themselves. I can"t understand why the food took so long as the place was only half full. The decor is reminisent of a drab 1970"s steak house and needs a proper refurb. All in all a disapointing evening. We shall not return until the "new management team" get it sorted. Basically it was glorified pub food.

Accomodating friendly Asian lady staffing the bar when I visited last week 20/05/09. Enville was top class. Toilets of the pub tidiest I have seen in a pub in many a long year. Pub has just won 'best pub in Staffs award' and rightly so. Mine hostess came into the garden to find out if I needed anything more. Spent time chatting tho' she was busy and put me at my ease. Canal running at the side of a garden big enought for a cricket match. Clean tidy a pleasure to drink in. Well done!

Big pub, with large car-park and grounds over-looking the canal. We visited on a hot day and the grounds were packed, sadly hosting some Foster drinking kids that decided their car stereo music should be a gift for us all to enjoy, or not as the case may be.
The pub had at least 6 real ales, though sadly no MILD. I tried a few half pints of Enville Ale, Kinver Edge and May Bug, as well as Butty Bach and all were fine, especially the Kinver Edge.
Cant really say much about the interior as i didnt see anything of it, apart from when i visited the bar. The bar staff were all friendly and without doubt, i would visit again

Lovely picturesque setting. Go for the specials menu, the regular one tends to be quite plain. Good wines.

Heard this pub sometimes has MILD. On my recent visit it had a MILD. Several cask ales are also available. Popular place for food so presume it must be good.
The pub is in a picturesque setting with a massive garden running alongside the canal.
