Me and my mates used to go here back in the late 80's/ early 90's when it was the Gin Palace (GP), we used to travel from Twickenham and had some really good nights out here and as Acton Plod Shop was next door, there was rarely any trouble, there was a DJ every Fri/Sat and the occasional live act, back then the House/Dance music scene was in full swing and as some of us were kinda just under-age, the beer really wasn't that important as long as it got us drunk, but the GP was one of the best places around for pulling girls.....happy days.

A few years back this was the sort of pub you dind't feel inclined to enter, the sense that the conversation would stop if you walked in. It's been done up and looks bright and fresh so we finally gave it a try.
Interal ambience is fine - but the choice of beers is awful. Mediocre lagers (Amstel, 1664) and no draft bitter. There was some live music on while we were there wich was OK.
Has potential, but poor choice of drinks really lets it down.

this is a great bar for the L A D I E S

I found the barmaid in here to be very friendly and the general ambience to be quite welcoming. There is an open kitchen around the back of the bar which Im not a great fan of, but a lot of people like to see their food being fried. There is also a nice sized paved garden out the back which is nicely fenced off from the main road.
There is no real ale and the draught selection is Fosters, Kronenburg, Kronenburg Blanc, San Miguel, John Smiths Smooth, Guinness, Bulmers and Strongbow.
I liked it here and it is the sort of place I would go with my misses for a bite to eat, but Im not sure this would be a beer in the evening choice.

Spent a great Saturday night here. Excellent DJ, fun party atmosphere. Lively fun place and nice crowd.

This place is dreadful. Poor quality, over-priced food, and a poor selection of beers. Place seems popular with loutish rugby types and people who think that they're getting good quality if they're paying a lot for it. Avoid.

a welcome addition to a somewhat dire acton.
the drinks were on the steep side (i have paid less in central london) but otherwise okay.
the crowd of people was mixed including some locals, resulting in a fairly pleasant atmosphere. i thought this until unfortunately i noticed some girls who were obviously of school age.
hopefully this doesnt happen everyday. if not then i would be happy to return and try out the food which many seemed to be enjoying.

Well what can I say -- the food was unbelievable (try the crab cakes or steaks) especially at the price!!! To moomin below who noted the food was expensive, perhaps you're comparing it to run of the mill microwaved pub food -- but you'd be better served comparing it to a top restaurant.
The Chef and Staff were very friendly and the owners like to take a hands on approach and seem to always be there, which is a nice touch. A late licence too now on Fridays and Saturday means that they're open till 2 -- finally meaning there is a choice in Acton for people to stay out late and have some serious fun -- with some class!!
But Sunday is simply divine with the roast lunch (not being a culinary genius myself I find it very handy to meet my mates there).
Can't believe a place like this exists in Acton -- now all we need to do is bulldoze most of the high street and start again and we should be on our way!!!

The Chatsworth Is a beautiful modern bar, with a great selection of wines and beers.I recommend the house red.The service from the bar staff is second to none. However what makes this bar unique is the exceptional cuisine. On several occasions I have tried various items on the menu and have been very impressed everytime. In particular the sea food paella is delicious!Another advantage is the late licence on Friday's and saturday's(Until 2a.m)and resident D.J Josh will have you dancing all night.

A fantastic fish pie is the pick of an excellent menu, served in ornate surroundings by charming staff - and to cap it all, we saw a musician there one Wednesday who was one of the best singer/guitarists I've heard in years (called James Henry - we bought the guy's CD, and we're normally tight-fisted). What is this guy doing singing in a gastropub in Acton? Very worth a visit, especially with music on a Wednesday!

Very expensive food

This cake-icing-architraved building (pic to follow) used to be the White Lion, a pubbers' pub where you could spit on your hands and challenge the whole house to a game of pool and be quids-in for the evening (always assuming you won). Otherwise, Acton nick was handy.
The new incarnation is an internal testament to the wonders of masked rotary sanding, rococo-Baroque corner-mouldings and Bauhaus stainless steel kitchenarama. You'd like a pint of bitter here? Certainly, sir; one John Smith's Extra Cold* coming right up.
This place may not win a Casque Marque for its olde-style, hand-tapped, bladder-wrenching Suffolk ales, but W3's first Michelin star could soon be on its way here. We all loved the risotto, linguine and organically home-slaughtered burger.
Ealing borough councillors hoping to have our beloved Acton awarded third world status for overseas aid purposes may need to hide this place from the World Bank/IMF inspectors when they come around, though they can certainly take them there for lunch after they've signed the cheque.
* I kid you not; it exists!
