Popped in last night for a pint-it's certainly unspoilt

Well kept Courage Best at 3.00,pleasant Irish landlady-we will return when we are in the area

Never made to feel comfortable in the Beehive. I think if I was over 50 or a builder then it would all be fine but me and the Mrs popped down there a few times as its not that far but were made to feel uncomfortable. Sad really as the pub itself has that traditional pub feel and look to it. Maybe it was just me though and maybe I shoudl give it a go but there are better out there in my view.

A bit moody for my liking in here. Its a decent enough pub not one of these new pubs that have no atmosphere but the staff are hard to break down and I often dont know what mood they will be in when i go in for a beer. Apart from that and the smelly toilets the pubs alright really, i like me best and they keep it well.

This is a classic back street locals pub but strangers are also made to feel welcome.
Not easy to find so check the map. Close to Stains Station.
I went there last Saturday lunchtime.
There are two bars. 7 hand pumps. 4 in one bar and 3 in the other but only 2 in each bar in use selling Courage Best & Sharps Doombar which was not bad at 2.90 a pint.

This is a good pub, welcoming and cosy feeling, and still looking much as it must have done 40 yeras ago with a fine wooden interior. It is split into two bars and one has to exit to the street to move between them. There is a large screen TV projector but when we were in all was calm and pleasant. The handpump beer was a very well kept Courage Best, though a Fullers London Pride handpump there but was not on. The bar staff were pleasant as were the people in on that Friday night. It feels like a local's pub but is actually only about eight minutes from Staines railway station so could be a good meeting place. There is a beer garden but we did not use it. I would definitely go again.

Great local pub. Friendly regulars, decent beer, superb beer garden for the summer. What more do you want?

Very strange pub with stranger locals who don't like strangers. If you hear a banjo playing run for your life.

Well my honest opinion is I visited this pub with friends and met some right weird characters at the bar. Found the landlord very miserable and he doesn't communicate. The landlady was fun and friendly and a great communicator. Had to laugh about the chicken in the back yard. Didn't realize they were there until we had opened the back gates and they all made a break for it!

Excellent backstreet pub! Great locals, great beer, great landlady! Be ready for every level of customer from the banker to the builder and be prepared to have some fun. Great beer garden in the summer with toys and space for kids...food on Saturdays. If you have any problems just ask for Auntie Sheila and she'll sort you out!

A nice friendly traditional back street local, and the best pint of Courage Best I've had in a long while. Visit spoiled by a choking level of cigarette smoke and a fuzzy picture on the big screen in the saloon. Will be one of the better pubs in Staines from July!

Jon Bon's review below is a pretty accurate one. A turn-of-the-century corner local with two seperate bars still serving (a decent and competitively-priced pint of) Pride and Courage Best. Also has some basic rolls behind the bar for 1.30.

There's a bit of atmosphere in there, and quite liked the ambience of the saloon bar. However, be prepared for the resident drinkers to hush down and stare at you when you enter. Operates a 21 and over policy, so there's no Chavs.

Worth popping in for a quick one if you're passing with friends maybe.

Nice traditional back street local not too far from Staines railway station. This is the type of good honest unpretentious local that does what it says on the tin, one of a sadly diminishing breed. As well as a games romm, there are 2 bars - the saloon bar features wood pannelling and carpeting, the public bar is a bit more basic. It has been in previous editions of CAMRA's Good Beer Guide, but is not in the current edition. There were only 2 real ales on on my visit last Sunday, London Pride and the ubiquitous ( for Staines anyway )Courage Best. For the nostalgia buffs among us, there are even outside toilets. In summary, this pub is well worth popping in to if passing by
