Red Lion, Ossettback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
This pub is now under new management and what lovely people and staff they are. I have visited a few times with my husband over the last few weeks and can't fault it. The staff are friendly, the beer is great especially the varied real ales they serve and the food is good quality and good value

The Red Lion is now under new management, lovely couple, beer is as good as ever, ongoing real ales, pleasure to drink in a proper pub, with proper people, and decent entertainment, would rather drink here than other establishments on Dewsbury Road!

Absolutely disgusted by this pub, I would not go bak in there if you were paying for my beer. The pub itself, and the beer are superb, as are the bar staff. But the landlady - Barbara ? - is without a doubt the rudest, most offensive, evil person I have ever met. It's a real shame because the barman, Trio, and the barmaid, Mell, were great, hard working, friendly, fun. But then this sour faced old cow came in and was rude to everybody. Like it was the customers fault that there were dirty glasses on the table. It was an inconvenience for her to keep her pub tidy and clean, and customers get in the way. I have never felt so unwelcome. In these hard economic times this pub deserves to go down the pan because of Barbara. I would NEVER go here agin.

Red Lion ales have now stopped brewing, replacements were not great last week
|
beer fine, food good too. Has a TV
|
My local. Gets crowded around the bar, new management slightly deaf, food potential not being optimised, back dining room virtually unused. Apart from that, good guest ales, good atmosphere. Nice in winter when fires on!

Ancient pub which has retained it's Olde Worlde feel. Serves locally brewed Red Lion ales plus guest beers and the usual John Smiths. Gets quite busy most evenings. Great little pub spoilt only by the smoky atmosphere which will doubtless improve when the Governments smoking legislation takes hold.
