Friends stumbled across this pub last summer and had a cracking meal, so took us there last week when we were staying nearby. Outstanding food, good selection of ales, good atmosphere. Can thoroughly recommend this pub / restaurant.

This pub re-opened a week ago. I think the previous refurbishment probably spoiled this country pub. Now the pub seems to focus on food. With it being only the second day of its new existence, there were plenty of staff all eager to impress. Only 2 tables didn't have a reserved sign on them. Beers on were Notley Arms Pleasant Pheasant, St Austell Tribute & Exmoor Ale. Ok pub. But more of a restaurant than anything now.

Sorry, gone again, went today and a for sale notice on wall. Pub is completely empty.
So sad was one of my favourite pubs

Please update your header, this pub is alive and kicking. We visited today and ate an excellent lunch accompanied by Tribute & Exmoor, both in great condition. The staff & landlord were pleasantly welcoming without over doing it. We could see plans were afoot for further development..letting rooms etc. Would certainly visit again if in the area & recommend seeking this place out.

The Notley Arms is now open!!! They opened on 20th January 2012, it has been newly refurbished and the gardens re-landscaped. Serving excellent locally souced food. What s great they welcome kids, dogs and even horses!!!! Give it a try you won't be dissappointed.

A cracking good pub, generally food led but still catering for the drinker. It gets busy at times but there always seems to be some space. The beer is always good and food more than adequate.

Superb food and a good choice of beers, Exmoor, Bath Gem and Waddies 6X together with four ciders and "country wines". Welcoming staff and locals very dog friendly. Do not feed Rosie the sheepdog, her collar tells you she is too fat, she doesnt think so.

Great atmospheric village local (run by Rhodesians). They do food, but it's not really a food led pub. Worth going to if you find yourself here, but its a bit off the beaten track.

Very good food, clearly a pub and not a restaurant. We came for lunch, though busy but we got a table by the fire. The Notley Burger was hearty and even the onion tart and salad was filling enough on a winters day. If you just want drinks, no problem either. I'm adding it to my countryside walking rotation.

Had a long wait on a very busy Sat night (off peak) for food but it was worth it as the ale was great and the food tasted fantastic. Has a non-smoking family room but only two tables (seating 4-8). Great atmosphere. Pleasant staff. Highly recommended.

I have many happy memories of visiting this pub on hot summer evenings after a days Archery at Dunster castle. We would all poor into the pub, order our 'pockets' and sit straightening arrows late into the night.
It may have changed now, but the food, especially the pitta pockets, was great value for money and the treacle pudding outstanding.

Up market gastro pub, picturespue and olde world but welcoming and unpretentious. High quality food at reasonbale prices. Good beer list - Exmoor Ales, Bath Gem and Wadworth 6X on our visit all in good condition.
