very much the tourist haunt though the whole town is. Stuck with the house blonde and bruin though the others went for the assortment offers. Currently 3.5 euros for a 25cl glass which considering most of the brews are of the headbang variety (the 'lighter' house beer being 7%) isn't too bad.

Check your bill when drinking here. We first tries the draft craft bar a few doors down and between us had six drinks. We were charged for eight. We then went to the main bar (this one) and had four drinks (so one each) but were charged for six. So both Camrinus outlets tried to rip us off in the space of an hour (and they were not busy). I suspect that this is deliberate.

Pub No.2 on a Bruges crawl. A large establishment that feels more like a restaurant than a pub. Another extensive beer list - my friend and I enjoyed Arabier and Caracole. A nice place and I will no doubt return but it does lack that intimacy I look for in a pub.

Another great Bruges Experience. We were lucky to get a seat at the bar at 10pm on a midweek night. I had downloaded a bruges pub walk guide which recommended a brew that is not commercially available elsewhere. It came with floaty bits - but I am sure this was by design.

Did not like this place. Very busy when we called in at around 4.30 with many tables reserved for evening eating. Although a good selection of beers try Poatersgat at 8a Vlamingstraat which opens at 17.00 for an atmospheric bar.

Popped in for a beer while touring the bars of Bruges. This is a pleasant, light airy place with a mixture of diners and drinkers. A huge menu of beers to the point that choosing the beer based on the silliness of the type of glass it is served in became a good game.

Was very busy on Saturday evening.

Great place. Busy almost every time that we happened by - which was often! Great beer list and the food is very good too. Would recommend weekday afternoons for the best atmosphere and avoiding the hordes of people that will arrive late afternoon/early evening. Try the Abbaye Des Rocs bruin - bloody lovely.

This one is our favourite and we called in not long after opening time and always got a window seat. Had a garlic bread starter to eat and it was sufficient. The beer range is superb and does need a lot of mulling over to choose a beer, but it was the best menu we found as it listed brewery, beer, tasting notes, ABV, and price. Everything you needed to know. Staff were brilliant and never had long to wait for either the order or the delivery of it. Even tried the beer in the tumbling glass but have to remember to set it back on its wooden holder as it does not have a flat bottom. It was Van Steenberge Leute Bokbier. Excellent bar with lovely atmosphere and always top of the list to visit at least daily when there.

Extraordinary and head-spinning menu of 400+ beers, very crowded at most times. The food we had was exceptionally good, although very pricy - 17euro for what amounted to a beef-stew. Waitresses very quick and efficient once we jhad mulled for ages over what to drink, only stayed for one, but intend to try a longer session at a less crowded time next time we're over there...

Handily placed just off the Markt. Whilst it doesn't have the history of th eolder Brugge pubs it is clean and very well stocked. As indicated, over 400 beers to choose from....if anything too many!! The beer menu was colour coded to make selection easier but if you are in for a session it pays to hang onto it AND have a notepad to hand!!

It is also a no smoking outlet which this reviewer found refreshing.

Good place, although gets very busy on weekends, especially with diners. Hardly surprising as the food is very good (although priced to match).

Great selection of beers, although my main annoyance was that once you've ordered your food the menus (with beer lists) disappear form the table - so you either need to memorise your "game plan" or ask for a menu back well in advance of needing your next beer.

Service generally good, and happy to book taxis for wafes and strays who have cut it to fine to walk back to the Railway station for the last train home... Looking forward to visiting again!

A great pub made better by the fact that it's open all week - so for all you arriving in Bruges on a Monday Winter evening and looking for somewhere open to eat, this is the place. Must be the best beer list in town and they always have the range of Westvleteren beers on. Don't leave Bruges without tasting them as they are seldom equalled and never bettered.

Very good. Interior is a bit like a brand new Wetherspoon, but don't let that put you off. Staff are great and the food's fantastic.

Still excellent, and there's someone in the kitchen who knows exactly what they're doing. A 15 euro three course lunch was excellent. One word of warning. They bring a little dish of nuts and things with each round of drinks. Last Friday afternoon I saw a member of staff recycling leftovers - putting them back into the big glass they're scooped out of. I hope no-one is reading this over a meal. What it means is the near-certainty that some of the snack presented to you has previously been touched by a gentleman who hasn't washed his hands since visiting the loo. Enjoy the food and drink: avoid the nibbles.

Eight draught beers, 400 bottled. Full details and tasting notes in three languages. Excellent staff. Decent food. Very central. Expensive by GB standards, but competitive in local terms. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. They have a shop a few doors along where you can buy bottles of beer and their individual glasses.
