We visited this pub on sat for a family birthday lunch although the pub was busy celebrating its 17th birthday we managed to seat all 9 of us thanks to a very nice customer who moved seats for us,the service was ok bar staff very helpfull and the meals arrived in a reasonable time. The food looked ok but whilst eating my mixed grill i discovered a piece of plastic (probably from the burger wrapping ) this did not concern me too much and the waiter/server did offer to replace my meal i declined his offer, at which point he put his fingers in my meal to remove the piece of plastic, i was stunned and this totally ruined my meal.

Just re-opened with a landlady who looks like Nanny McPhee ( if you don't know who that is ask your childern). Bit rough but what do you expect from Hamworthy it's not Chelsea. There was once a manager Carly I think her name was obvisously she has left now, what a shame the only thing I used to go in there for. Anyway just another average pub

First of all- I am offended by John - I grew up on Turlin Moor and believe me I'm in no way a layabout or anything else! Also the Double Six closed more than a few years ago from 2003 - Try early 90's! Right got that off my chest! lol The Red Lion I have found always to have a nice mix or young and old. The food (which I go in for) is very nice and well priced. I went there once for New Years Eve - and had a great night of fun! I would say a welcoming average pub.

thought the closing down of the double six at turlin moor afew years ago would rub off on this place. It has not .I have visited the pub on a few ocasions and found it friendly and welcoming good food too.

Entered with some trepidation due to its proximity to the notorious Turlin Moor estate. Pleasantly surprised to find a welcoming atmosphere and a decent pint of London Pride.
