Still going strong since my last post, has guest beers often now, even a beer festival in early May.

Opened on 23rd April 2009, has Fullers London pride and the inevitable Ringwood Best. Too busy being opening night to know if it will be successfull in the long term.
|
Local press states "A spokesperson for Enterprise Inns said: The Hinton Oak is temporarily closed for a period of up to six to eight weeks to allow the new retailer to carry out an extensive refurbishment. "
|
Now seems to be closed, a sign outside say the the kitchen is closed until further notice.

bit poncey and over-priced reasonable food - there are better pubs locally (3 tuns in Bransgore is far better 'gastro pub') but then in Highcliffe there are also far worse!
|
I agree, the uber-modern decor and uncomfortable high stools hardly make this a relaxing place to have a beer or three. despite being a Thursday and not busy at all I thought the service not terrific and as others have mentioned pricey.
Pity..........

May look nice but it is reflected in the price of everything. Beer not even resonable price, wine is exspensive. Food was disapointing for what we paid. Perhaps caught the chef on a bad night???? The local atmosphere of the pub has disapeared. Call in if you fancy a sophisticated pretentious look but if your going to eat or drink try other haunts.

I live in Highcliffe and i really don't think this modern style of pub suits the clientel. The food menu is expensive and very posh and frankly I thought it was sub-standard.
|
Refurbished to a high standard and can recommend it. Could do with occasional good quality live music to match the decor.

What have they done...a refurbed place that looks like a Doctor's surgery, I certainly wouldn't worry about stopping here in a hurry

Excellent Local, good food, great drinks and not too expensive. Usually some weekend entertainment from live bands to standup comedians.
