More vodkas on sale than beers it seemed but I did have a bottle of some dark Polish beer which was OK. I don't think I'd visit again for the beer alone.

A Polish bar run by non-Polish people, with no Polish beer on tap, and prices that would drive Eastern Europeans back to communism.
On the plus side, the food is fairly authentically Polish, such as pierogi (albeit presented in small, neat portions and twice the price it should be), and they do have a lot of Polish vodka to try out.
There is nothing actually wrong with Bar Polska, but with plenty of great pubs in the Holborn area I fail to see why you would want to choose this place above others. Save your money and get a cheap flight to Krakow instead.
Digested read: As Polish as a sombrero hat, but twice the price.

stop going at the weekend then.

It seems everytime I go here it's closed!

Been going here semi regularly since it opened in the 90s. Not a lager drinker at all but make an exception here as there is such a good array of quality Polish beers (although I believe Zywiec is in the hands of heineken, and EB is fosters...). Nevertheless, John runs a tight ship and he and his staff are always super-friendly (I've found). Food pricey but hearty. Not the cosiest of establishments but then...it's a bar!

Uninspiring euro-style bar with plastic furniture, bottled Polish beers and possibly the rudest proprietor in the whole of London. There are much better places to eat and drink in this area. Best avoided.
|
very pleasant session spent here saturday eve, friendly service, good food, beer and vodka
|
Perfect for an after work drink. Fab selection of drinks with friendly service. Does get busy.
|
lovely place to chill early eve before the crowds arrive, obe of the places to drink around Holborn
|
I drop into the bar everytime I am in town.
It's great during the weekday to go and have a quiet drink and relax, and grab a nice bowl of chips. :)
It's been refurbished in the last eyar or soo and looks very smart with the new wooden wall mural type thing.
A must visit bar.

Small and busy but friendly staff and crazy drinks. Well worth a visit!

Very good Polish bar, not what I was expecting, (thoroughly bar like as opposed to pub like) quite small, VERY busy. Everyone spills out into the alleyway outside, makes you feel sorry for all the sober people who have to walk through the drunken crowds :o( I was there 2 weeks ago and we had a blast, the lagers are very good indeed, all bottled from what I recall but all big 500ml ones. You can't go wrong with a Lech (so many jokes, so little time). Polska vodka is good too, very friendly staff, they all seemed to be making an effort to see to you as quickly as possible whilst having a bit of fun themselves.

I will have a bottle of Honey Vodka with the top off please (trust me it tastes better than it sounds) Awesome Vodka and Polish beer fuelled bar great friendly staff. The landlord on every round patently tried to explain the pronunciation of the Polish beer I had forgotten upon my return every time (see Honey Vodka above). Will be back soon, did I mention the Vodka?

first visit in a long while - this place opens saturdays too now. Unpretentious, very friendly, and even a lengthy beer menu ! I'll be back very soon.
|
Not a bad little bar, with an incredible vodka menu. Great atmosphere, mainly because it's impossible to stay sober after the first couple of drinks. Quite plain and uninspiring-looking at a first glance, but you'll soon forget all about that.
|
Nice little bar with lethal beer and smiles all round from the staff. Bizarrely crammed with teenagers with daft haircuts when I was there at the weekend.
|
Excellent place - lovely atmosphere, nice clientele, great Polish vodka and beers well worth trying as well. Food is very nice and superb value for large-sized portions.

brilliant. My type of bar. Small and friendly and has a knock you socks off beer..(Zyvietch)...spelt wrongly. Nice food as well since they updated the menu a while back, quite reasonable.

Absolute gem! Funky decor, fun & friendly Polish staff & an endless range of vodkas. Tucked away so not too packed, but still a buzzy atmos - if you like it, don't tell too many friends please!
