New Inn Hotel, Clovellyback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Interior is a little dated, but the staff were friendly, beer well kept (Country Life "Ho! Hop! Hic!) and was a reasonable price. Shame about having to pay £7 to enter the village

Okay, Clovelly itself is a timewarp but this place seems to have stopped in the 1980s. Externally a stunning black and white building but upon entering you are met with a bar that really could be located in the back streets of any seaside resort between here and Blackpool. On continuing through the bar, there is a large area seemingly converted out of an old stockroom and distinctly lacking in either decor or atmosphere. Food was pretty standard and although the Country Life beers were perfectly well-kept, I found that I just didn't get on with them - but that is maybe a question of individual taste. On the plus side, service was perfectly friendly, but I couldn't help but feel massively disappointed with the pub itself.

Same as Dwayne here, except last visit was 40 years ago. Locals were very friendly and chatty and insisted I tried the scrumpy......3 pints later I was flat on my back. Will never forget it.

Nice pub, food good, beer good, just a shame you have to pay to get into Clovelly. BIG MISTAKE.

first time back to Clovelly in 30 years and was just as I remembered, the New Inn is about halfway up/down the cobbled High St making it a perfect stop off for the steep climb back up to the car park, nice open front with a cool shady interior on a hot day and a perfectly chilled San Miguel pint was just the ticket....service was quick and the locals happy to chat to day trippers, will certainly go back!

For such a spectacular village, I found this pub a bit of a disappointment. The ale selections was good, but the service was ordinary. The phys environment of pub was ordinary too, but you can't be ordinary in that kind of village setting.
