As one of the aforementioned yummy daddies, yeah, I wouldn't go in except in the evening when I could be assured of some peace and quiet.
Had a pint with some friends midweek and had a good night. Pleasant staff, good burgers, I was on Guinness which was perfectly fine for a London pint of the stuff. The refurbishment works well. Mixed crowd of older people out for some nice food, thirtysomethings having a catch-up and well-healed twentysomethings. Prices were average for the area i.e. expensive.
Nicer than a lot of the drinkeries on the Northcote road even if it lacks the Eagle's boozie charm, or the Holy Drinker's knowing hipness. I'll go back.

More creche than chic. Since re-opening as The Bollinbrooke Arms, the policy to allow children has turned this top-end Northcote Road venue into a noisy hang out for the areas Yummy Mummies and Daddies who think themselves too posh to keep their children from climbing over the furniture - to be fair, that's that's probably the nannies job. If you do ever find it in a quieter moment this is a excellent retreat, but it's a long stroll down Northcote Road to find the children are in.

Closed. Premises re-opened as 'The Bolingbroke'. Part of small chain of up-market pubs / Gastropubs such as the Stonhouse in Clapham and Avalon on Balham Hill.
Have eaten there (very good) but not had a drink. Draught beers were Deuchars & Timothy Taylors Landlord. Presumably expensive.

Didn't have a problem with this establishment, it does have a 'we are based in Clapham, we are frequented by suits and the money buys good living' vibe no question about it. You will be paying alot for a good night out here
Occasional visit with perhaps a good woman in tow, this is a decent stop. Other than that nothing spectacular.

Im too scared to go in. They look like psychos in there

Awful awful awful. Seemingly frequented by the entire estate agency workforce of Northcote Road (literally 25+ agencies on the one street). Massively & amazingly overpriced, full of braying morons wearing either suits on Saturdays as the other post points out, or, failing that, shirts with the collars turned up. Picture it: half sitting on a bar stool, one leg on the floor and flopping his hair.
Tim Nice-but-Dim was apparently based on a bloke from Wandsworth. He'd drink here.
Go to the Eagle 200%.

Terrible place. Rude staff, full of poshos watching rugby in SUITS on a Saturday afternoon. Avoid. Go to the Eagle, you know it makes sense.
