Went in here last Saturday afternoon. Most of the regulars appeared to be watching the horse racing with two screens showing different channels. There's clearly a horse-racing theme to the place with photos of race horses on the walls. Cask John Smith's, Pedigree and Sam Smith's Original Brewery Bitter were on.

Tradiotional Yorkshire drinkers pub, with bonus of live music and great outdoor drinking area by the cricket. John Smith cask very good,as always round here.

bit of a lazy effort in my experience, its as if the proprietors believe that simply making a pub look like its good, makes it good.. not so. the ale is ok, the food is ok, and the clientelle is ok. if you like mediocre youll love it !

This is a very much a community pub with somethinmg going off 7 nights a week, mainly live bands, altho ther is an open mic night a caberet evening and a quiz night.Les the Landlord is a very a chartitable fella and is constantly help[ing out the local charities, only back in Aug he staged an all day open air music festival with Joh Parr on St Elmos Fire fame headlining, the event raised over 600 towards the building of changing rooms in the village. The bitter in the Boot is always bang on(John smiths Smooth and Cask)as reflected in the healthy numbers that frequent the place. As for the lager, couldn't say,to me it's just europiss that came over here in the 50's to give our women summat to sup.
