The House of Windsor seems to have closed for good.

I walked down to the House of Windsor yesterday, but appeared to have closed. A local tragedy, as this wis probably the best food and real ale pub in Witney.
Still the best food and real ale pub in Witney, with a varied range of well-kept ales including (at different times) Everards, Hook Norton and other brews - although Tinners seems to be the regular ale. The one drawback is that this excellent pub is some way from the town centre and, perhaps for this reason, it is closed during the day.

Nothing special, average kind of pub, the Tinners was drinkable but nothing special.

Good ale selection - St Austell Tinners is the regular, and there are two more handpumps that change regularly, and tend towards small breweries. I've been few times and the beer has always been excellent. The pub's interior is fairly warm, cosy and traditional, and I look forward to my next visit.

Love this pub. Nice ambience, friendly and welcoming landlord and staff, great garden and seems to attract a nice clientele. Very much looking forward to my next visit which will probably be on quiz night (Sunday).

Had a few drinks in here recently and will definitely be going again. Nice ales and the landlord was immidiately very receptive and friendly. Also has a garden, and I seem to remember a pet lizard?

A right gem this one. Beaufiful pint of real ale. Atmospheric bar area. Good beer garden.
The House of Windsor changed hands last weekend, and it remains to be seen how this celebrated real ale pub will fare under new management.
one of the few "proper" pubs in town. Always a good selection of ales available( generally 4)and in tip top condition too. made to feel really welcome.
Got a map from the local police to help me find this one and was glad I did. Really enjoyed my visit and the ales on offer.
Genuine and well stocked real ale pub (usually at least three on tap) that puts most of Witney's other establishments to shame. Garden is indeed one of the best in the town.
This is an excellent real ale pub. There are normally at least three or four ales on, with Timothy Taylor being a regular favourite.
The beer garden is one of the best in Witney.
This is probably the best pub in Witney, with a good selection of real ales and food. It attracts a real mix of customers, and has an Aunt Sally team.
I enjoyed this pub with it's old fashioned landlord and his high standards. Beer was good and locals friendly.Made a hash of trying to play bar billiards. A real local with character.
