Morris Clown, Bamptonback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Quirky and friendly - warm and welcoming. Three real ales on the go Moreton Mild, a West Berkshire Bitter and White Horse Blond - tried the last two - both good.

First class. No food, no music, no machines. Just friendly locals, a huge open log fire, some dogs and interesting paintings and articles on walls to amuse yourself with. TV is stood on some old beer crates but wasn't on when I visited. Dartboard, bar billiards and Aunt Sally all present. 3 ales on tap. I had the White Horse, which was nice. Difficult to find fault with this place, other than it's over an hour's drive from my house

What a lovely selection of real ales! Smashing. I'm coming back here again! The landlord was very welcoming, the coffee was good too. And the decor is very distinctive (murals).

Great pub with chatty locals and friendly landlord who didn't charge our designated driver for his coke. Free bar billiards too!

This is a classic drinking pub try getting in there on Whitmonday when the morris men are dancing and it will be hard to elbow your way to the bar. I imagine that 39 nine days to go refers to the countdown until the smoking ban, when at last Steve Mace the no smoking landlord will no longer be polluted by passive smoking. Well worth a visit for a beer and a chat. Note that they are closed weekday lunchtimes but are open from 5pm and all days at weekends.

We tried to go to this pub while on holiday nearby, but it was closed. The only suggestion why were the words "39 days to go!" chalked on a board by the door. Does anyone know what is happening to the place?
