Choice of two pubs in the village. I'd have come here, even if I had seen the last review :-)

Empty. Everyone had gone to the wedding.

Decent pint of Wadworth 6X - much earned after a 10 mile walk on the Banbury Fringe.

Nice village, Bodicote.

Dreadful place- enter at your peril. Landlord is notoriously unwelcoming and the place is full of people who look like extras from Straw Dogs. Like many before, have tried to brave out the afformentioned as it is my local, and I like to support local businesses but seriously, life is too short!😵

The quiet village of Bodicote is situated on the edge of Banbury. But it feels a world away. The Plough is a two room pub - one for drinkers and one for diners. The dining room was unoccupied, whilst the bar had 3 people and the landlord. It's now a Wadworth pub with 3 ales. On my visit, they were St George & The Dragon, Henry's IPA & 6X.

I saw online that they do food and rang up to see if a booking was needed. The phone was answered with a grumpy "hello", the pub's name not being mentioned until I checked I'd rung the right number.

I was then told "we don't do food any day" and as I was just about to let them know they were still advertising food online the phone was put down on me.

I don't know how they can survive in the hospitality trade.

A pub I have visited for the past 15 or so years on and off, but sadly the present landlords are far too rude. Simple polite questions are often greeted with a rude blunt reply. A real shame as this pub carries plenty of character and was once a warm welcoming place full of regulars.

No hope for this establishment. Beer on the pricey side and the food! first they do it then they don't. Totally unreliable. Shame it used to be friendly and accommodating but sadly not now

There were three Wadworth beers on when I was there earlier this month. Smashing atmosphere and the food came in v generous proportions.

Was a Brewpub, now owned by Wadsworths, so tends to carry 3 or 4 of their beers. This tends to be the most popular pub in Bodicote for beer and food, it was absolutely heaving last Friday night, despite the January blues.
There is a definite split between the bar and the restaurant areas now, but I enjoy the earthier, louder bar anyway, despite the TV.
The Landlord & lady are both very friendly and are very keen to discuss the merits of the beer. pub and life in general.
A good place to be.

Great pub. Very welcoming, the lager also tastes really good. would go back. Lovely little pub to chill in. Also they have a very cute dog.

Was great when run as a brewery until the son took it over. Then it went downhill...
Had a meal there recently (under the new tenants) - not bad but a bit pricey!

This old pub was a free house which also produced its own beers for many years, the owners have now sold to Wadsworths who have undertaken a major refurb and it is now a tenancy.
Wadsworth beers and a guest are well kept and the food is well above average. Would say the best pub in the village for the more mature eater and drinker.
