Excellent little pub. The selection of beers was a little limited (2 breweries) but the acceptable. The board on the wall indicated that the selection was varied regularly but we only visited the once.
The food was good apart from the side vegetables which were obviously frozen and hence tasteless.
Very friendly staff, so a good night out.

We noted that this pub was a finalist in the North Oxfordshire CAMRA pub of the year contest, despite not being in their Good Beer Guide since 2008. So the new owners must have gained recognition. The pub has a nice setting in this small village and the owner seemed friendly. Although the bar and waiting staff seemed very inexperienced. Sharps Doom Bar & Wye Valley HPA were the 2 ales on offer. The cider was Westons Old Rosie. Whilst the interior was nice, we chose to sit outside. There are a couple of tables at the front of the pub and a few more in a re-designed garden area to the side of the pub. The car park can be found further down the lane and a narrow path overhung with bushes and trees leads down to it. We also sampled the food. Whilst it was ok, I would not rave over it. The kitchen and all of the staff were clearly becoming very busy as tables filled and people were turned away. A nice enough village pub, that is worth a swift visit if in the area.

Back to its former glory! Good food - and not too 'gastro-ey' or expensive, which is certainly a plus in this area. Good cider, too, and friendly service. It's been pretty busy every time we've visited, which suggests the locals welcome its return.

PLEASE IGNORE ALL REVIEWS BELOW - because The Tite is now under new management and has been serving food since 7th July 2012.
They have an excellent range of beverages including at least 2 Real Ales. The interior has been totally revamped and there is a good garden for outdoor eating.
We recently had a family lunch here and consider the overall standard to be excellent and very good value. We live in a neighbouring village and will be using The Tite regularly.

Rented a cottage in the village in August & was looking forward to visiting this pub. Arrived on the saturday night to find it 'closed until further notice'. We asked around in the village & it had been like that since early June. Signs that the recession is biting at Mr Cameron's own back door.

We tried it again recently, after having been there a few times in the past. The refurbishment is generally sympathetic, and the outside seating area should make it an ideal location for a pleasant evening out, as its beautifully located. Unfortunately, the poor selection of beers and the very limited menu let it down. The staff are generally pleasant (though not exactly attentive), and they knocked a fair bit off our bill for mistakes made with our meal.
I was surprised by its emptiness when we arrived, but not by the time we left.

Well I went to The Tite the other day and what a change since the new owners took it over. Only 2 draught beers when there use to be a selection of 6 and two lagers (one of which was sold out).A small menu plus they were not doing food that evening.
I would suggest phoning before you go in case they are closed but better still try the Swan at Ascott under Wychwood which is what we did and that was excellent.

Closed for "refurbishment" -- maybe open in February 2008. Does this mean the favourite rural pub of David Cameron is going further upmarket?
