attended this pub on saturday 8th October prior to York races, racegoers were not allowed into bar area with locals, i bought two identical rounds of drinks and was charged different (extremely expensive)prices each time. i checked the price list on display and very embarrassed bar staff told me the prices were raised on race days. everyone was complaining about the very expensive prices. This from a pub whose website states they sell your favourite drinks at great value prices. GIVE IT A WIDE BERTH AND GO STRAIGHT TO RACES WHERE DRINKS ARE CHEAPER.

Just received a refurb which makes the pub look fresher. However the speed of service is quite slow even if you're the only waiting you can be waiting up to 5 minutes plus to be served. Seems to have a lot of cheesy theme nights.

Pretty miserable place. Ok for a couple of cheeky pints or going to watch the match but it lacks atmosphere & needs a charasmatic landlord to give it a kick up the arse

Busy on race days and the staff try really hard to serve everyone quickly and with a smile. Buy 'em a drink if you've had a couple of winners.

A pub with an "L" shaped pool table as well as a more traditional one.
Plays both football and rugby games and is an excellent place for getting over a saturday night hangover.
