Reinvented as All Bar One or something, now with Doom Bar, pretty busy place with tapas type stuff, about 10 years after it became trendy: but hey it is York. Nice atmosphere though: music a waste of time all you can 'hear' is bass...bit like a band is practising upstairs...maybe there was of course.

Always a pleasure to sit in here on an afternoon and talk with friends when I'm back up North, Especially when its warm, (admittedly not very often in York) when they open the windows on to New Street - which is virtually the whole wall, almost giving it a continental feel. Skinny chips are a must and their range of own sauces are very nice. 8/10

Sterile open plan bar. Slightly overpriced and lacking it atmosphere.

This place has clearly changed recently. I have had bad service/food in the past, but have been there so much lately as they have some really good staff, and the food is always very good. Yes, it's a chain pub, but I've not been disappointed at all in the last year - in fact, very impressed!

nice looking bar, told no way when asked if we could put two tables together. sorry for being a customer and paying there wages. Drinks ok though

Measly was the vote on our sharer platters. All garnish and not substance, rude surley staff with no idea. Cocktails? what cocktails? Don't even bother when you have dusk, bluefly and city screen nearby

For some reason took my parents here for lunch when we were passing through Edinburgh. God knows why because I hate the one in London. They hated it. Enough said.

A very pleasant bar / cafe restaurant. Modern to the extreme, and can sometimes suffer from the loud music, full to the rafters + pretentious label, but during the day is brilliant. Serve great food and nice drinks, and cocktails.
