been in york 3 years only started going here about 4 months ago, great bar, service is quick and usually with a hint of whit and fun. Sundays 241.

Nice little bar. Only went in cos wetherspoons was packed. Our burgers was tasty,a great plateful, and really cheap! We ended up staying for some drinks we hadn't planned. Well worth a try, we'll be back.

this place is ace i don't know what the fella at the bottom is talking about, good deals, i loved the decor and the music was a treat. i only went in for a beer and ended up leaving 3 hours later with my mind changed as to what i look for in a bar. since then i've become a regular and am working my way through the cocktail list

Th best bar on Micklegate by far, and not full of scmbags either which was a result! Top drinks, top music, top staff and the photos on the walls are amazing.

Great bar! Have to admit to being a big fan of the one in Harrogate for a few years, so was delighted there's one here now too!
It's simple - good music, good drinks, good value (best happy hour in york!) and i always find the staff really friendly and knowledgeable. Much better than anything else on Micklegate.

Someone is telling porkies! Most expensive drink on the menu:�4.75, most cocktails: �3.75, Happy hour 5-9 every night and all night Tuesday with buy one get one free on cocktails etc. When I was in the music rocked, ranging from current chart rock right back to classic Led Zep and Hendrix (Cheesey??) Perhaps Shandy should be known as "lemonade" until grown up enough to have a sensible opinion! AS for Mr Cross, how many reviews have you found the timeto write?? And you don't like any of them!
I loved this bar, I then went a week or two later to the one in Harrogate which was also great.

Avoid this place at all costs. The over priced cocktails are awful. If you want to pay �5.95 for an over priced cocktail go to Capital or The Living Room. At least the staff are friendly there and there will be more than 5 people there at any one time. Avoid this unfriendly place, that play's cheesy music. I don't know how they have classed in as a 'rock cafe'. There is nothing rock about it.

Has now been redone, is called Montey's Rock Cafe, although what is rock or cafe about it Idon't know. Very standard and unimpressive.
