OK, the planning permission was passed but instead of closing down and reverting to a private house ......it is still a pub......of sorts.
The pub was gutted and anyone who new the old pub would not recognise its new look. There is now a small bar area as you enter and then all the space after that is a restaurant. Having said that the beer on draught was in good condition served with a smile. In essence it is now a gastropub, and seems to be good at what it does.

Application for planning permission to be turned into residential use lodged with Cornwall Council. It would seem that its future as a pub is doubtful.

I've been past this pub many times on my visits to Falmouth but it always looked so quiet as to be closed. I decided to try it on a rainy Thursday afternoon and I discovered a little gem. There is a smaller bar at the front then a larger lighter room with some really pleasant art on the walls and brillant views over the water at the back, there's even binoculars available if you want a better look. A clean, bright, relaxed pub with pleasant staff. This is a brilliant pub with a really nice atmosphere. One of my favourite 5 pubs in Falmouth.

Had a very enjoyable meal in here today, with great service to boot. Will definately return.

Too food orientated: Staff too fond of diners to bother with drinkers. Great views over the harbour when not obscured by dirty dinner plates and food droppings left on the tables. Why do staff not clear and wipe tables when diners have left?

First visit just before Christmas - nice little place, superb views, decent ale.

Excellent establishment overlooking the harbour with local ales and superb food - at last a pub chef who knows how to treat scallops!

Sunday night August 6th. We have not paid this pub a visit for a while now but so nice to find Me & The Devil still playing the venue. The views out over the harbour are great but the music was fantastic. This tight blues trio are have to be one of the best I've seen. The Guitar player vocalist has a great blues voice, the double bass player seems to have sold his soul and on the faster numbers his hand are a blur and the harp (harmonica) player is simply just brilliant, one of the best. This is a group you really should not miss - the place was packed to the doors with people of all ages and despite finishing their sets for the night, the cry went out for "The Mystery Train" a number they often finsh on which really does demonstrate all their individual talents to the fullest. After this final number by demand, one member of the audience was heard to shout "Awesome" which just about sums up this group.

This is a very pleasant pub. Decent beer/real ales. It has live music on some nights, but I'm not sure which. When it's busy it has a good atmosphere otherwise a nice quiet place for a pint or two; then there's the view across the harbour and Carrick Roads, which is outstanding, as the pub sits on top of a hill and lots of windows. There's a free to use telescope aswell. Well worth a visit.
