After many visits to find the place was shut for renovation and then holidays I was intrigued to know what had been done to it. When I finally found it open, as a walker I felt very self-conscious in my walking gear and boots as I had to walk past people eating to get to the bar. Shame it's not open at lunchtimes but good beer and friendly people.

Finally found this place to be open. Not withstanding that b1ggy is the landlord blowing his own trumpet and ixus one of his mates, this is actually a nice pub to visit. Most of it given over to dining, with plenty of nooks crannies and alcoves for that purpose, but there is a small bar area and the bees were served in excellent condition.

Lovely little village pub with a friedly and warm welcome from the landlord, we had a superb meal all freshly prepared by the landlady by all accounts and to top it all a fantastic pint of a beer we had never come across before from a local brewery Called MASTERS BREWERY, thier session bitter.....a great beer! We had a fantastic evening and will look forward to visiting again when we are next in the area.....check it out

Nice country pub so I thought I would drop in for a beer. Bloody place was closed; useless 0/10 for being so useless

having been ruined by the previous landlord and landlady this pub has been sympathetically restored and is thriving once again. Three good value real ales and a really nice atmospere. Worth checking out.

Beware the opening times of this pub, which is tucked away deep in the Somerset countryside. Sunday is the only time it opens during the week. We were lucky, as we got there just before the 2:30 last orders, after which it shuts for the rest of the day. Opening times displayed indicate the pub is closed on Mondays and open from 7 other days of the week. Although I think it may have opened at 6pm on a Saturday. The landlady seemed fairly pleasant, and as we arrived the only other customers were leaving and commenting how good their lunch had been. So just time for a quick half of Lawrence's Farm cider! Beers available were Cotleigh Tawny Owl and Salopian Sienna. A nautical theme prevails with a boat-shaped bar and various pictures of ships on the walls.

A lovely country pub with huge car park just off the A38. 'Fine dining' is a bit of an understatement, all the food is freshly prepared at very good prices. Always a good selection of real ales. Best to book in advance.
