Much as previous reviews. Ten well kept ales but not many that could be considered out of the ordinary with Houston Killinean being the exception. A better selection of ales would be appreciated, but on the other hand aPub/Hotel with ten well kept beers should be applauded

Blimey, 10 handpumps(albeit pretty ordinary ales),absolutely spotless shiny bar and polished tables almost too spotless!! 3.15pint and rather lacking in atmosphere when visited, 7/10

Quiet hotel bar slightly off the beaten track, but with 9 real ales on - Caledonian Over The Bar, Ansells Bitter, Deeside Macbeth, Fullers Chiswick Ale, Greene King IPA, Deuchars IPA, Belhaven St Andrew's Ale, Wadworth 6X and Adnams Broadside. The football was on during our Monday night visit.

A hidden gem not to be overlooked, 5 real ales on at NY2008, service second too none, again on my calling list in May.

Handy city centre location and, often, a quiet spot for a drink and chat. Up to 10 real ales on offer and always in good condition.
With a little effort in selecting interesting ales this could be a great bar but it's usually the same boring selection of national blands. Fine opportunity going begging.

Very plain hotel bar; real ale OK but range seemed much too big (and not interesting enough to attract real ale crowd). Lunchtime buffet seemed a good idea.

Fairly mundane hotel bar, lacks character or indeed any noteworthy features. Drab interior, very small screen for the football (either have a bigger one, or not one at all). Decent selection of real ales including Black Sheep, wasn't too impressed by any of them though it must be said. Staff seemed friendly. It is what is it. A hotel bar.

A pleasant bar situated in the basement of the Brentwood hotel. Great choice of real ale and good food. About 5 minutes walk from the middle of Union st.

huge range of real ales, good pub to pick up a jog in you are in oil engineering food in the restaurant is plain but fair enuff

Don't know anything about the hotel side but Carriages is a nice relaxing bar in which to work your way through the numerous real ales which are on offer (usually 10 at least!).

I stayed in the hotel here. Didn't think much of it - unfriendly staff who get things wrong snd then don't even aplogise. Peeked in at the bar and it looked as threadbare as the rest of the place.

If youre looking for something old and publike, this isnt it. Extremely well-appointed, but cant help looking like a hotel lounge bar, which in all honesty it is supposed to be as part of the Brentwood Hotel. It is though quiet and relaxing with a range of ales large enough to keep you entertained.

Its an ok place and I have no problems with it. However, I get bored stupid of middle aged (or prematurely middle aged) oilmen banging on about this place and its real ale. Not a place to meet lasses, but if you want to know the BP's latest well results, there's bound to be one guy showing off and giving away confidential info. Still, I suppose its not the pub's fault.

Nice Hotel Bar. Down stairs, its big. Lots of good real ales.

A fantastic bar situated below one of the many hotels in the Crown Street area of the city. Has 10 real ales on tap and these change often enough to stop anyone getting bored.
