Despite living a few miles away, I try and vist here whenever I can, Rob the owner is a great character, and he certainly knows how to keep, and serve a perfect pint of real ale. There are usually four hand pulled bitters on offer, each with a distinctly different taste, but all are usually at their best! There is regular live music in The Guitar Bar, and ample car parking, just make sure you get a car parking permit though, as folk from across the road at The Polish Club tend to use his car park as if its their own! Highly recommended!

Now in the Good Beer Guide 2009.

Good Points.... It's great to find musicians who are not up their own arse.
Fair stage-time given to all
Management and staff always agreeable.
Bad Points.... Selling probibly the worst lager in the world.
Half of the clientel seem to be so far up their own arses that they look on everyone as shite.
P.A. caould do with turning up.
OVER-ALL..... It is indeed a quite venue..but one where you can relax, (inspite of the lager).
It will seem like it has its little cliques at first to a new comers, BUT I believe this is unintentional as most people there will stop and have a chat.
Well worth a visit on a Sunday evening

Seems to have stopped doing food? Beers were excellent though.

great great place. one if the best places for live music in notts

This is an excellent venue! And the host, Rob, and the rest of the staff are extremely friendly! Very comfortable surroundings and very friendly, laid-back atmosphere.
If you play an instument or sing (or both!), this is a great place to show off your talents on a sunday night! A very warm welcome and a great time is had by all. 10/10!!!

Hotel Deux is a quirky place with scruffy charm, comfy sofas & friendly staff. Try it when u want a chilled evening without the hassle of town. Should change the dodgy name though ...
|
Hotel Deux has potential, yes, but it is trying to please too many people at once.Food, real ale, music, etc. Needs to specialise.
The dog is very smelly and does put a lot diners off as it allowed too near the restaurant - and the front lawn is it's toilet - Pooh!

Fairly new bar and bistro just off the main road. Haven't done the bistro bit but the bar is relaxed, the staff are friendly, there are 3 real ales which are not expensive (don't be put off by the 'Hotel' bit). Great for sitting outside in the sun. The landlord's dog is a permanent feature and you can often spot the cat on an upstairs window ledge. Live music on Sundays and occasional other gigs.
