As a very old man of music I have seen venues open and close.
I have seen great venues and also shite venues.

Unfortunately when a venue dies it is very hard to breath life back into it.

The bibbest problem is that the majority of musicians today seem to be of the ME, ME, ME clique.
Love me, Love me I'm brill.

Yes there are indeed a lot of talented musicians out there, BUT it is hard to notice such talent when it is so far up your own arse that it lose's it's lustre.

STOP IT......PUT THE FUN BACK INTO MUSIC!

Good Points....
It's great to find musicians who are not up their own arse.

Fair stage-time given to all

Management and staff always agreeable.

Bad Points....
Selling probibly the worst lager in the world.

Half of the clientel seem to be so far up their own arses that they look on everyone as shite.

P.A. caould do with turning up.

OVER-ALL.....
It is indeed a quite venue..but one where you can relax, (inspite of the lager).

It will seem like it has its little cliques at first to a new comers, BUT I believe this is unintentional as most people there will stop and have a chat.

Well worth a visit on a Sunday evening

I have seen many a good musician at the open mike nights (Thursdays) but I am sorry to say that they have taken the road to qickly becoming a clique set up.

I hope they stop before they reach the point of no return.
Already I have noticed so many talented people no longer attending.
What started as the best open mike in Nottingham has very quickly lost the plot.
If you only wish friends to play then have a party at your house and leave the pubs to real musicians.

The Golden Fleece, Nottingham

Unless you are part of the clique do not go hoping to play on the open mike nights.
I once witnessed a man ask for a spot, (It was 7:30pm there were only five people in the place(not counting bar staff)).
He was told that the list was full.

I stayed for the evening and watched as other people slowly entered and were imediately put on the list.

Keep your cliques...it's not for me.
Yet another pub without true musicians.
