Appalling behaviour by the bouncers. Me and a big group of friends spend Friday night here a couple of weeks ago, spending a lot of cash. At closing time I left without picking up my coat. I remembered literally the second I'd walked through the door but the jobsworth on the door wouldn't let me back in, saying that I'd have to come back tomorrow. My coat was just inside and he wouldn't let me nip back in. I had to walk home, cold, because my oyster card was in the coat. Luckily my keys weren't, but even if they had been he was so bullish he would have still refused. Never going back again if they treat paying customers with such ill manners.

Had the displeasure of this dump last night. Was quietly having food when some random started firing ice at us. Spoke to the barman who had "a word" asked the numpty to leave. The guy returned & continued to insult us & peg ice at us. The "barman" the proceeded to dissappear but knew well the bloke was back in. Had to speak to another bar person to get it sorted. Never again will i touch this place. Staff surly & unwilling attitude was a disgrace & their attitude to the situation was apalling. My partner works around the corner & her & her staff use this place. Never more. Avoid till it grows up

Could be really nice, ruined by the arrogant obnoxious staff. I know a lot of places now don't give a full pint as standard but this place is particularly bad for it. There's also a barman who delights in going round the tables attempting conversation and getting in a strop if people are happier without him hanging about like a bad smell. Often filled with suits during the day

I really liked this place, nice comfortable seating, good vibe, quick and helpful service and both Brooklyn Lager and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (two of my favourite American beers) on draught. Not too pricey by West End standards. Seems to attract a nice laid back clientele too which is a bonus. They have some club nights there too according to various posters and fliers dotted about the place including a 60's Soul night which I have to say tempts me, especially when the beer is as good as it is here.

Popped in for a late drink tonight only to leave feeling very disappointed with the attitude of the staff, who were generally impatient and disinterested. The staff have changed since my last visit but unfortunately the service hasn't. If you're in the area, I suggest trying the nearby Match Bar or All Bar One where the service is noticeably better (not that that would be hard though ;))

Nice pint of pride in a propper glass, not a bad meeting place to start a night but would not want to stay all night. Handy for when the wife goes shopping in john lewis though!

Popped in Saturday late afternoon for a post shopping drink. Pint of berry Fruli and bottle of pear cider happily drunk. Bar staff were savvy though a little slow of the mark. Interior looked comfortable and a nice bolt hole from the rain. Lots of choice on draught and bottles.
We sat outside with the other stinkin smokers, 4 silver tables, all busy, good atmosphere and nice enough clientele. Would go back but probably for a couple or as a meeting point.

Called in here for a pint recently and couldn't get one. They were busy which is fine, but having waited a good few minutes for my turn the landlady/manageress who had been talking at the end of the bar and leaving all the work to one poor lad suddenly looked around, went round the bar, served a bloke who was stood behind me with whatever he was drinking (she didn't need to ask him) AND THEN WENT AND STOOD AT THE END OF THE BAR AGAIN! Don't even think of going in if you're thirsy.

This is an OK pub in a very popular location making it quite a mission to get served during busy periods. Pride, Black Sheep, Rev. James, Frulli and premium lagers were all available during my visit and I found the staff to be friendly even though they were very rushed.
I think that there are better pubs nearby, but this place is OK for a few swifties.

Good meeting place in Oxford circus, varied mix of customers all surprisingly friendly for a west end pub. Service was a bit slow, but the Taylors Landlord was in excellent condition. Monday night is comedy night in the cellar bar and great value for only a fiver. Good range of ciders on draught too.

Nearly always busy in here and at least they do decent cider for a London pub (Westons and Addlestones on draught), but previous reviewer is right - service is far too slow. Haven't tried the food - not sure if I will!

Gone totally downhill due to the utterly inept management who choose to completely under-staff the bar. The obviously incapable duty manager also seemed to have a fear of actually serving anyone, thus leaving a single solitary member serving the entire establishment. Also witnessed food being left on the counter for easily 5 minutes. A friends food (chicken) was raw in the middle. My veggie burger was slushy and slightly burnt.
Avoid at all costs, at least until they fire the manager.

great bitter range, spitfire and black sheep were well kept and well pulled, reasonably priced as well, even my local in the north charges more for a pint of spitfire! not tried the food but heard its good from plenty who live and work in this location. definitely worth a slight detour if you're doing the oxford street shopping bit

Super friendly and always polite bar staff (two of which are absolute cracking sorts) serve good choice of beers and wines to mixed 20s/early thirty something's spread across a very cosy and tidy top floor. Terrific 70's rock and country nights in their basement with a drinking licence until 2am. Basement bar does get a tad crowded on club nights so hop-scotch upstairs prior to closing for refills. Excellent 'back street' (facing Cavendish Square) place to relax when weighed down after Sat/Sun/Xmas shopping excursions.

Ace burgers, fine selection of real ale (voluntarily served in an exciting glass tankard). Wise to order grub around 12.45, or you'll have a long wait.
|
Food is a little slow in coming but worth the wait. Bit dark inside and uninspiring from the outside. Good place to pop in for lunch during the working week.
Strange to see Jenson Button here on Tuesday in the corner with pie, pint and femme. Perhaps might help him win at Imola next week :)

Good pub for drinks and food. Interesting range of beers. Appeared to be slightly understaffed on recent visit but all staff very friendly.
