Duke of York, Shepton Beauchampback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Pretty much as it was 7 years ago, without the braying hooray henrys.

A fine village pub. Beer was ok (as you would hope for) the food a bit poncy, but that seems to be the way they want it. A party of braying hooray henrys made a lot more noise than was quite necessary, but I guess they meant well

This pub is a real locals pub in the heart of the village with a very warm welcome. When we arrived the bar had a good natured buzz about it with the rugby on the TV. Even though there were quite a few customers at the bar the barman(?) took his time showing us to our room and making sure we new where everything was. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which is fabulous - 4 poster bed and jacuzzi! immaculate in every detail from the free wireless broadband to the luxury towels. We ate in the restaurant and the food, service and VFM was 10/10. Breakfast in the morning wasn't a disappointment either more than enough of top quality everything. We'll be going back for sure. If you happen to visit give Purdy a tickle on the belly from us ;-)

Definitively on the up, been redecorated, good real ales on which are well kept.
|
3 or 4 real ales on in this Local pub. Tried Cheddar potholer which was well kept. They also had Otter 4.5% and Teignworthy on. Seemed quite busy on an October mid week evening

Well it seems to have gone down hill a bit from the days of being the pub on which the sun never set. Still serves a good pint though.
