Okay, may have the wrong pub... The Hace is on swinegate opposite church, but still recommended..

This pub is now called The Hace. A surprisingly large pub inside, which was pretty busy on a Thursday night in August 2019. If you want good food and beer I can seriously recommend this pub. Most meals are home cooked and hearty at reasonable prices. Beers were Osset Black Rat, Leeds pale and Timothy Taylor Boltmaker. Lovely staff and friendly locals who were all inquisitive as to why we were staying in Hessle.

A pub which has had many changes over the years. Used to be called The Eight Bells in its heyday, full of trawlermen. Recently been changed to a sizzling pub. No windows open so gets very hot in summer. A nice place inside with a large car park. Ok for drinks at resonable prices and some real ales on which are usually pretty good. Can get noisy and a bit dangerous at weekends with idiots, but if you ignore that the place is fine. Nice beer garden at the front.

Great family Pub. If you want good food and entertainment this is the place to go. Entertainment every saturday and Special 50th Anniversary Buddy Holly tribute on the 03rd February 2009.

This was a great local until about a year ago when it was made into a food pub. Now it totally lacks atmosphere
