called at this pub it was really friendly , landlord unusual humour but for a saturday evening not many in but we had a great meal, we had the baguettes served with chips, warm and friendly , it did go quiet when we walked in but wasnt long before we felt accepted, locals are part and parcel of the character of the pub, great lady call mal a customer who really made us laugh, beer was cold and just what we needed, would definetly go again.

Very quiet on a Friday lunchtime. Good value food and decent beer. Worth going to if in the area.

Odd place. Eaten in there once, and it was, average. Locals are somewhat too friendly as if a new face is something to 'play with'
All in all, what you'd expect from a retirement village.

Stayed locally for a week in august and found this a wonderful place to curl up in on a slightly chill night. Great perry, good selection of wine and not bad on beer. Nice bar staff and friendly locals....can't ask for more really!

Stopped off here on the way back from Aberystwyth, after consulting the Good Beer Guide.
Fair to say I left mighty disappointed. Only one ale available (Buckleys) which was well past its best. (Cider and Perry also available from a Thatchers box at the bar).
Inside was a bit dark and dank on a beautiful summers day, felt a bit depressing. The outside section looked OK.
My lunch of pork shank was a bit mixed. The pork itself was huge and very well done. The accompanying small tray of vegetables (meant to be shared by two people) was paltry and overcooked.
I can't recommend this place on the evidence of my visit, pretty poor stuff really.

Excellent cider (try the local Ralphs), good ham egg & chips, lovely location even though it's just off the A44.

Cracking little pub in that cosy, home from home way that many Welsh pubs can have. Had a beer festival when I went, and the ale was excellent. Apparently they have these often. I didn't try the food, but the prices seemed very reasonable.
