We popped into the William Henry - as it now is - on a recent break to Weymouth. Both this Weatherspoon pub and the one down the road seemed to be constantly busy, and it is easy to understand why: I had a beautiful pint of Ringwood Old Thumper, which, at 2.05, was 90p cheaper than an inferior pint at a nearby pub. As it was Steak Night we had the mixed grill, excellent value at 9, including a starter (which they forgot at first, but nevermind). It is nicely decorated. The rainforest of leaflets outlining special offers can be a bit irritating, but all in all, excellent value and good quality.

A really good Wetherspoons - very comfortable and clean and (gasp) nicely decorated. Better than the old Hogs Head - apologies to any afficianados.

Now Open As "The William Henry", Was nice to see a new spoons opening up here but was sad that it meant the loss of hog's head.Had brekkie and a pint of great tasting ringwood which was spot on and so was the service, A good start anyway.......8/10

I visited Weymouth in the weekend and was keen on watching a game televised on sky. I asked at Weymouth Information who set me to The Hogshead. I turned up and was happy to see about 9 tv's and next to no-one in the pub. I asked if they were going to be screening the game and the manager said he would put it on the tv down stairs. I got a pint and waited... and waited... and waited. I asked a staff member if they were going to put the game on still. He said everyone was watching another channel. I pointed out no one was watching the tv down the bottom, but he said he was still not sure. So I asked if he could tell me if he could find out, so if they weren't going to screen it I could go elsewhere and catch the second half. "nah, I dunno?" he replied.
The most useless hospitality ever! They'll serve a beer, but that's about it.

No good any more as they lost the greatest chef ever, Roy Mushroom, the drunken master of burgers

Most of the staff in this establishment do not seem to know what they are doing and need to attend a customer care course (with the exception of the kitchen staff & a few of the bar staff).

I think there is a major problem with the food in Hogs Head, Weymouth. Called in for lunch 23 Sept. Saw 2 persons complain and get money back. We had BLT, which the bacon tasted burnt and very greasy. Will not eat there again.

Pretty much a replica of the Hop and Kilderkin in Winton, Bournemouth but lacking the clientele. Not that there's anything wrong with the people who drink here it's just that the Hop has a diverse range of people of all ages in there whilst this place seems only to attracts the youngsters. Good range of well kept real ales.
