Popped in here to see the Man City v Chelsea F A Cup match. Two guests on plus Doombar and London Pride. Although it was busy I didn't have to wait long to be served. Food was being served but cannot comment on that as I didn't eat but my son certainly enjoyed the burger and chips he had. Will certainly go in there again.

First visit to the pub and enjoyed my stay. Decent beer and food with plenty of staff round to get served and waited on. Two members of floor staff came to se if the meals were ok. Would happily come back again

Had the Sunday lunch today, lovely roast beef etc. Add soup and ale and the price creeps well above 11, but hey ho, well worth it, and no chavs either, definately will go again.

What a lovely surprise. Large family pub, clean and pleasant with ok ale and food. Must visit one evening when one of the acts are on, plenty to choose from during the month.

just visited this pub and WOW what a difference a year makes. Came here last year and it was dirty and cheap pretty bad food, but the place has completely changed, Great place to bring the family for food with a 2 meals for 11 offer and there was great entertainment from a freddie mercury tribute act when I came with my kids and wife. The place is spotless and toilets immaculate!!Great Job We Anchor in Hope you have a new customer that will come back and back.

Quite like the place as it's a bit out of the way - fairly bog standard pub but there's plenty of room and not a bad way to spend an afternoon drinking

I am sure the We Anchor In Hope exists only to ensure that sentences using its name sound grammatically incorrect. As a pub it is a large, plastic, soulless, pub by numbers sort of place that upon first entering has all the appeal and feel of a Hungry Horse. The interior may be spacious but it lacks any real intimacy and the low ceilings make it feel a bit closed in. To one side of the central bar is a pool and darts section and whilst everything is all very neat and tidy, it is oh so dull, formulaic and characterless with discounted regular beers and standard pub grub meals that seemingly fail to attract anyone but the hardiest of locals. For such a sizeable pub, the presence of barely a dozen punters at 9pm on a Saturday night makes for a deathly and hollow ambience. A number of factors go against it; too far away from town to attract the general crowds, too cheap and dull for it to be a decent or credible restaurant and the place doesnt posess enough intrinsic appeal for anyone to justify going out of their way for it. We actually turned up to watch a band (one of the pubs more useful functions) but found the gig cancelled (admittedly not the pubs fault). Instead the multiple TVs were churning out Britains Got Talent which was sufficient to ensure a quick exit after the swiftest of pints. The beers were the standard keg with Courage Best the only ale (another pump was reversed but it could have been Directors). The staff were friendly enough and I didnt get any general feelings that place would be in any way unwelcoming but there really is so little appeal to be found here that a visit really isnt worthwhile unless there is a specific reason to go.

This is the cleanest and possibly the best pub in Welling. There is virtualy no drug usage and when it is spotted it is quickly dealt with. The staff are efficient and very friendly and do their utmost to help whatever the query. It is in the capable hands of Steve who has been manager since about June 2005. The two bar supervisors whom I've dealt with on occassion are excellent, but I must make special mention of the South African chap, Alex, who is a credit to the pub and could be mistaken for being the manager during the course of his duties. The food is very good but the time it takes to get to your table could be improved... I must just state that this only happens when the pub is full of punters. Sunday and weekends in summer are busy times. They have music every saturday night ranging from live rock to accustic and DJ evenings. The beer is always good but sadly the hand-pumps are not always charged! Well worth a visit but if they are busy then bite the bullet and stick it out, the food is consistantly good.

I love this pub, I am partially disabled and it has a fully fitted disabled loo and plenty of parking including dedicated disabled bays. We take the kids here a lot for meals and the service is always friendly, with a smile and very helpful. I am on a special diet and they always accomodate my meal needs even if it's not on their menu. I went last night for my birthday and the staff were happy and top class, the food was fantastic and lots of it, it was clean, very busy with lots of families and there's a nice play area outside for the kids. The only shame, as with any pub, is they can't choose their clientelle, there were a couple of chav morons and their respective females playing pool around the other side of the pub but thankfully the morons tend to stay away from the large eating area. There is a generous no smoking area and all in all I would happily recommend this as a pub and eatery.
